I do wonder whether the old rules about operational costs will be torn up over the next year or so as they complete the various feasibility studies. The advances in automation in the mining sector, many of which Newcrest are openly talking about, should lead to efficiency levels never dreamt of before and the mind can be designed now with that in mind, rather than trying to fit in New tech around historic outdated infrastructure. I think this presents Newcrest to showcase the mind of the future on a Greenfield site. What an opportunity to present to the global mining community! If course this all translates into a higher value in the ground!

Everyone has the opportunity to make money here irrespective of their strategy. The difference is some strategies require the luck of timing going in and out. Each to their own.

ON the London Stock Exchange - good start. But only the start!

With that number I bet they have their own pub set up for some cold ones after their shift ends!

So often on this and other stocks we have seen incredulous SP movements on good news. This isn't good news - this is spectacular news. The sell on news brigade have a difficult decision to make in the morning - take a little profit now or hold and take a whole lot more later. The timelines have been clearly laid down by NCM as a back stop date for establishing the resource size - it could be quicker. Then we have our other projects of course and what GH's plans are going to be in turns of trying to fast track one or more of these - this evenings news and hopefully positive impact on the SP will entice some of the warrant holders to exercise the rights and that is money in the bank and we shouldn't notice the dilution too much with the upward rise - that's my hope anyway. Just how many rigs is GH going to book is the question....actually there are loads of questions and hopefully tomorrow morning or shortly after we will be learning of his battle plans.
To conclude:
Well done to CB for having the vision and understanding of the Patterson potential - this is just the start.
Well done to GH for striking a fantastic deal with this JV - outstanding work. Look forward to a broad smile on the next interview - he might just need to resort to the F word for additional superlatives as he was rumoured to have threatened recently.
Well done and thanks to Paddy for his unselfish acts of sharing superb research and insights - he has done many investors here a great service.

Fully agree. Should have news in the next couple of months re financing etc. Might be following you if funds are available.

A review of drill plans in the AGM presentation and publicly available Satellite data suggest that even today current drilling is still working to find the limits of the deposit.

Oldtimer. You need to factor in CB. This is his baby really. I do not see him letting GGP go in one deal.

Don't forget that NC have to pay GGP for that 5% of the gold in the ground at fair value ....that starts the debate of what is there and what would fair value be of course. Lets take real low ball figures of 3M oz at $100 in the ground - that is still $15M for 5% - of course many here are expecting bigger numbers than that and I include myself in that camp.

This gives the detail of the Farm In Tymers- you will see that they get 70% with the option to purchase 5% at fair value.

Mercedesman - am I reading this to mean that we have a growing base of sticky hands at the moment if they couldn't shake out enough sellers? Bodes well if that is the case.

There are residency rules in terms of what property you can buy or where you can live (depends on the qualification of the property if you are renting or buying) - all covered on the Jersey Government website and we do have a local regulatory body the JFSC which covers the financial services industry - not sure if that answers your question? Just like no CGT we don't have IHT - hope it stays like that!
