I am not sure what I think of this appointment. Absolutely nothing to do with being a woman (for the record I have always been in favour of right person for job regardless of sex, race, creed etc, and therefore not in favour of quotas), more the timing if there was to be a sale.
Of course some might find it convenient in that she has a lawsuit pending which might put some off. If Solgold needed a short term appointment it might suit both parties?

A near term low ball offer bothers me too. The only consolation will be that the shorts are carried out, the managers fired and we can still tell SB to stick it where the sun don’t shine.

Agree Addicknt. Which imo makes it far more likely there will be a deal. Not so many people to have a chat with to get a nice chunk. Some are in it for the money, some for the asset, which just leaves the price as the unknown in the equation.

Antigua, I don’t think he is playing a game at all. He is in negotiations to buy something. So while the negotiations continue he will be quiet. That’s just business.
When the deal is done I would expect him to be a bit more chatty, if that’s what you want.

Institutions these days are as short sighted as some PIs. As soon as they ‘invest’ they want their money back via dividends. If they really were investors they would want their money to grow inside the company.
Management are often no better. They want buy backs and not dividends, as that grows the sp more and so helps their long term reward schemes and options.
Two sides of the same coin. Just different interests. Therefore not aligned.

They couldn’t have done a placing at 35 prior to pfs given inside info, and a placing on the day would have been desperate.
But whoever mines this imo will be getting at least 15,000 for copper, 2500 for gold and 50 for silver. That should get the IRR to slightly over 19.3……

Each to their own YNWA (and I would never dis such a moniker!!). What I have enjoyed is finding out that we arent talking to holders of about 250m shares but more likely 5-600m shares. The silent (almost) majority are speaking.
As for who is lying and who is telling the truth. It really doesnt matter too much as if someone lies about 750k or the like, it wont affect the overall number that much, nor sentiment. I think we know the big holders have been pretty consistent with their pronouncements and I dont think we have seen that many people who have surprising and not previously announced 15m+ totals.
I bet LSE like the numbers. They can big themselves up to SD, which makes it odd that they took the first post down. About as stupid as wheeling out their 'interviewer' who knows less about GGP than just about anyone on here.
