Bozi, I actually said that they haven’t been able to. I don’t know that they have chosen not to, in that they had a choice whether to or not. But I do know that they have promised more than once. And failed.
So if they thought they could produce any product, barring a stream of over optimistic predictions, I don’t think it would be a saleable product till the 2040s…they are way out of their depth.

For 18months Solgold haven’t been able to produce a PFS, something that they ought to have the capability to do. However there are some here who would trust them with $2.5 billion to produce a mine. Amazing.

I think that SD might need to pick up the phone first thing to apologise to Sandeep for his shareholders abuse…
So the shorters have been given a nice shot in the arm and we all know where the next set of nervous bedwetters are….

As a long term shareholder in NC I am very disappointed in you lot. These emails to SB are embarrassing and factually incorrect. What were you thinking of? Dreadful just dreadful.

Afternoon Droverman. The thought that the all time high, or even the last 12 months high, has any bearing on where an offer can be pitched is an erroneous concept and this has been said on numerous occasions. It only has a bearing if the bidder has bought shares in the previous period at a higher price, which constrains what they can bid.

I get that gold is a hedge against inflation and that eventually it will trade much higher. But we were talking about a ‘Sunday revision’ to at least double the price.

Joe, I think it’s terribly naive to think that there is no more gold in the ground. There are many copper and zinc deposits that have gold that would become economic at higher prices for all three metals. Let alone the marginal gold discoveries.
In the most basic economic theory the price adjusts supply and demand just as vice versa. I see no reason why gold is different.
At $5000 I would sell all my gold and other PMs but I am not sure who would buy it. I think there would be many in a similar position.
The market price is the price where buyers and sellers are happy. Doubling it w/o an increase in demand would tilt that so that only sellers would be happy. So I go back to my original question, who are the buyers at $5000?

Morning all. I can see that a much higher price of gold would solve a lot of the worlds monetary problems. Ned Naylor Leyland says that gold is money and I think its just another commodity thats subject to supply and demand. I dont really get his point. So if we were at say $5000 then every gold deposit would be profitable and gold production would go through the roof. So who would buy all the extra production at $5000 an oz, that arent buying it now at $1900 an oz?

Afternoon Starbright . I thought it was revealing that sandeep was criticised for suggesting the deal was accretive to the p&l but would not show it on a per share basis. So I assume that it is modestly profitable but will worsen the eps. The analysts seem to be after him…

Agree Lenz. Everybody, please don’t pester Shaun with time consuming questions that may satisfy your curiosity but does little to help the company or the share price. We are now in a critical phase and we need board and management time focused on the things that are important. If you are very interested in who owns how many shares, the Bloomberg information is about as good as it will get.
On other matters it does appear that SB has his hands full with a dodgy management style and a fairly awful set of interims. He might be looking over his shoulder at potential bidders for NC and/or a shareholder revolt over him being CEO. How that affects the relationship with ggp is anyones guess.

Matty, you are being unnecessarily depressing. Please wait for mre and/or what SB and SD have to say. I think you are misunderstanding the news or lack of.

Morning Dip. I think NC are focused on their NA assets because mining companies seem to be rated higher there. With their 'listing' there, they are hoping for some insto support. But its pretty clear to anyone who has done even the barest research that the assets that will produce the income in the short and long term are in Oz and SE Asia.
As for the interminable discussion on the 5%, I doubt it will be sorted tonight, but as Starbright said a few weeks back, it should be viewed as the end of the farmout, not some link to the 25% value. However I am fascinated how NC will spin the justification of how they value the 5%, as good news (low value) could be bad news and bad news (high value), good.
I keep hearing great things about the EB, so I am entirely relaxed about how things are going in greater Havieron.

They are really sticking the knife in him. I presume he will survive this but its pretty damning.
