Just received the Merian Gold and Silver fund quarterly report till 30/9. In it they said they have 'sold down' their holding in Solgold. Didnt say whether they reduced their holding or sold out completely. Might go someway to explain the summer weakness, amongst all the other reasons.

Would love to see FT show 1myn Ozs, which would roughly equate to our mkt cap! Maybe then they could farm out a chunk (or sell it) and get a free ride through to production. Production would fund the Hav development too. Realise I am getting ahead of myself, but might as well be positive, especially when the mkt isnt.

Serge, there is no evidence that small Oz companies are valued any better than on AIM, despite the bleating. Go and watch a you tube video of Liam Twigger talking about fund raising in Oz and you will see its tough for minnows everywhere.
Maybe a bit less tough when the company has found something, thats all.

Just had a look at the definition of imminent, in case I was missing something. One of the definitions was 'on the horizon', which would be as about as far away as the eye can see. Think thats what they meant back in January......

If we have to go down this production route (which I am not a fan of), my preference would be to sell some more shares to NC/BHP at some nice price (30p?), or place a conv bond with a conversion price at >30p, use the funds to develop Bianca (as DBW suggests) or any other cheap to finance, near to surface deposit and use the cash flow to build Alpala.
The downside is that this will take ages and I will be collecting my OAP by the time anything happens to Alpala, and probably the SP.

There is always an implied interest rate! You just have to work out what is hidden away in the detail of the way cash comes in and the repayment is made.

So what do you guess the implied annualised interest rate will be? 10/15/20%? At what level is it good and what bad?
My guess is anything under 10% would be good and over 15% would be horrendous.

Some questions for CB and others.
Is there a difference in drilling vs mining, with regards to the heat? Can you do one but not the other? Do NC work Telfer (mine and processing) all year except for the wet period?
Is the reason GGP had to stop in previous summers because they dont have a 'camp' , but NC will not have this issue, as they do?
I think I probably can guess the answers but it would be good to get answers from those that know.

Bingo, you are being faintly ridiculous. Many people have over £1myn in their ISAs, built up over the years. I am not saying Tom is one of those, but if he were he could have 62 million share in GGP!

Colonel, interesting thoughts most of which are quite possible. However it would be illegal (but not impossible!) for anyone to have advance knowledge of a warrant placing and sell the shares down as a hedge against the upcoming placing. Even more so if you thought that was happening since the sp was at 30p. My guess is that would be the easiest case of insider trading to prosecute!

Sorry EUA not EUR. Wont be touching it as dont invest in Russia (or Africa, or a lot of emerging Asia or Argentina etc etc!).
