If you follow Sprott, you will know that he thinks commercial banks hold most of the shorts and they will roll into March. But its a huge open position, especially with thanksgiving making markets thinner over next 7/10 days.

Joebop, its really difficult for a microcap to get any kind of coverage at all. Thats why they have to use brrmedia and proactive. This is just another form of marketing. With only Numis covering the company and not sharing the information widely, what do you expect him to do - stand on a soap box at Hyde Park Corner?
If there was anything in there that was not true, I might agree with you but its facts, plus a little titillation.

I think JW has said the same, but I have also read that its not about increasing the tonnage but proving it up and defining the HG zone. We shall see but better to under promise and over deliver.
NM also said about a year ago that he thought it might improve 15-20%.
My personal wish is that we get the 'value' up to $100billion as that would be a nice round number. But I think thats a 25% increase so might not be likely.

Morning Quady. I dont disagree with you at all. Every day I think of whats the good news and whats the bad news today. Well the bad news these past few months is the price! I really like the r/r on this stock, and thats why I have so much of it! The share register is our friend at the moment and maybe thats why there has never been a t/o premium to the sp.
I have never been a fan of mine development as many here will know, but it looks like we are going that route. So getting some funding sorted out becomes the key next hurdle. MRE3 will probably not increase the tonnage much, but more improve the quality - move from inferred to indicated. Mind you JW has always been more bullish than NM on total size of Alpala. So lets get some funding news and then see where MRE3 takes us.
19p suggests the mkt doesnt believe funding is likely, nor a takeover/sale. One of those will clearly happen imho.

The worry atm is that the broker's talk of impending t/o will be a self fulfilling prophecy and we wont see the uplift. T/o premia are often around 40%, not 5 times! Maybe NM/DGR/BHP and NC hold enough to see off an unwanted cheap bid.

Its worth registering as they have a lot about mining firms and follow Solgold as its on TSX. One of the few who provide regular updates and comments on Solg news.
Also have the occasional webinar which is interesting/relevant.

Seems that Barrick got $204 per oz for the gold in the ground at Kalgoorlie, if my maths is right. Mind you that is a producing mine with a good history of production. According to the FT it was greater than one brokers carrying value.

They mention that any potential streaming could be in the order of $1 billion plus.

PLus you have to factor in all those tiny stockbrokers who hold shares for their clients and those clients who like to hold paper certificates. I think the MM number is tiny. Enough to facilitate trade but not to tie up much needed capital. Admittedly I am a bit out of date but when I worked in the City smallerco MMs werent large well capitalised companies. Winterflood was the best and biggest and they werent a big company.

I am slightly more interested why he put out the release ydy just a couple of days after parting company with AL. Drilling at Blanca and Porvenir is material to the company as are the drill results, as is the funding. Either a coincidence or a major bust up over withholding price sensitive info, imho.

Although I am no geo or tech guy I understand what you are saying I think. But despite that there must be some way, however improbable, that x g/t over x metres over this wide an area at this depth gets x million ozs, which gets x pence per share. Just interested in the methodology of the guessing game!
