On that point I can see that any drilling success makes our offer generous, but why should we let CGP participate in our upside when they literally dont deserve it. This might mean that we wont get any drill results till just before the EGM/BHP standstill ends.

Hopefullygold, I am not sure I am getting this. Are you suggesting that GGP could issue non fungible shares that wouldnt be tradeable for a fixed period of time? If you are, I think that would be incredibly complicated, difficult to administer and very dangerous for the buyer.

Evening hopefullygold. If all existing shareholders got free or discounted shares it would just be like a share split, ie no one would benefit as sp would just fall to reflect the dilution. Pretty impossible to prove who has held shares for a long time. The only way to do anything would be to issue warrants with any new fund raising that don’t vest for ages but that is forward looking rather than backward.

I think the plan is to move the mine closer to the Telfer processing plant....

Cage, I think it has been reported that Telfer can process 20m tons pa. The initial production profile of Hav was 10% of that. Plus whatever the Telfer mine will do is way under capa. Obviously if they got to capa they would throttle back Telfer mine production as its lower grade. All IMHO.

My take on targets is that last year they drilled blackhills as it was the asset that was furthest advanced after Havieron and had highest probability of success. Scally is next on the list and Goliath after that. Goliath might have the best chance of a giant find but it’s doesn’t have a chance of success as high as scally. Sadly panorama is further back.
Maybe the sale of 5% of Hav would allow Ggp to speed up all the analysis and allow for multiple drill rigs but till then there is a logical sequence.

Anyone think that NM might be happy to sell out to BHP once he has ground CGP into the dirt? There are some big egos at play.

Hi HopefullyGold. Yes I really enjoy the enthusiasm of Eric and Craig, if not some of their political views and conspiracy theories. They obviously have a good understanding in the working of the PM markets, as you would expect from someone who is a billionaire from PMs. Suspect Eric has added a few hundred million this year. Also own Ely Gold Royalties which has gone quiet recently. Promise I wont kick you or anyone else at the AGM.

Afternoon all. So my thinking after this mornings announcement is that Citi are running the show from the point of corp governance, board composition, defence and tactics. Sure, NM and his tech team are still running the drilling, exploration and PFS etc etc. Why do I say this? Because there is no way NM thought up all these appointments by himself, otherwise he would have done them a year or two ago. From having met him and my limited knowledge of him, I would say he really only wanted a board in his own eyes, where he is all powerful. I suspect that the management team are in love with and in awe of him. So I would say that recent news is all good. He will no longer be able to run it as his own private company.
As to Addicknt's comment that we differ on exit strategy that is mainly down to a few things.
Firstly this is one of the few companies that I have 'traded' terribly. (I usually buy scale down and sell scale up). With Solgold I get bullish at the top and bearish at the bottom. Why is that? Well when the price goes up I think about the assets and when it goes down I worry about the politics! Consequently I have a fairly high average and have been under water most of the time. So I am what they call a stale bull.
Secondly while I can see that the asset value is over a pound I just cant see a buyer happy to pay 3-4 times the current market price. If it goes this year it will be for less than 60p imho.
Thirdly I think it will get taken over as the majors just will not allow this to go to production and I cant see any financier wanting to finance a one asset development in a country like Ecuador. The longer Solgold stays independent, probably the better for sp appreciation, but the buyers know this too. Plus w/o a sp rise people like me will just get more jaded and so accept a lower price which will cap any sp rise. So big sp rises w/o a takeover are I think going to be really difficult. (I appreciate what I have just said is a bit conflicting).
