Doubt this could have been absorbed by PIs, so we should have a few new Instos, though they might all be under the threshold. Maybe no overhang of stock now, and as long as we dont have any more director selling we can have a nice bounce from here. Gold steady, Warren a buyer. All looking good IMHO.

Gold5, its all in the RNSs if you care to read them. Better to rely on facts from the company than read tittle tattle on BBs. I would add that there a lot of very jealous people over at the Solgold BB.

If they had a Truscan machine at site they would have a pretty good idea what they had within in minutes of pulling the core out of the ground. However in that part of the world that might be too much to ask.

Iceberg, Gervaise makes money when the shares go up. NM makes money regardless of whether the shares go up, and so regardless of you making money. Bit of a difference I think.

Morning speedy. I think you are 100% correct in your thought process. This will be viewed in the history books as one of the key moments in financial history. Buffet buying gold or gold miners is such an about turn and for one who has consistently been a fan of banks it’s even more so than PIMCO suggesting they may start buying gold, as they said last week. He rarely does things in isolation so I would expect him to sell more banks and presumably buy more miners. So many Americans follow him slavishly that we should see more, much more money flooding into the PM space. To me this is the most bullish thing that has happened this year to PMs. Obvs IMHO and all that.....

Scoutt you really should do you homework better. GH has sold 18.25m in this period. Probably best if you didnt invest here then we wouldnt have to put up with your nonsense.

TmT the biggest thing against share buybacks is that it boosts eps and triggers lots of directors bonuses, and options become more valuable. Not sure we have those problems though.

Tigger, how can the mkt cap remain unaffected after the payment of a dividend? Share prices always fall on going ex (assuming no other events that affect the sp). If a company is worth £100m the day before it goes xd, and pays a £5m div, it has to be worth £95m on xd day.
Thats why indices have to change the divisor every time a constituent company goes xd - though appreciate thats getting a bit esoteric....

I am sorry that I havent been around to respond to those posting about the merits and otherwise of dividends. I thank Paddy and others for answering on my behalf as they have pretty much stated my case.
Firstly if a company had excess cash and no way of investing to create a higher return they should buy back shares as this is more efficient than paying dividends. Secondly if GGP got to that stage it would cease to have a lot of the things going for it that make it attractive now as an explorer. Thirdly, there are those who mistakenly think that dividends are free and have no cost to the company, which is clearly nonsense. Fourthly which sort of ties this all together if you want a dividend from any company just sell some shares to that equivalent. This may use part or all of your CGT allowance but as that is £12k+ and multiples of your div allowance, it gets you a higher net. For those who have everything in SIPP and/or ISA then you are indifferent to whether you sell shares or receive a div, but it still doesnt make that div zero cost to the company. And if anyone doesnt get any of this I am happy to explain further with some simple examples, as in HopefullyGolds words I am not out to 'roger' you but I would like to explain it and help you.

Afternoon Paddy. If GGP start paying a dividend I shall either reduce my position significantly or get out completely. It’s a massively inefficient way to distribute excess capital to shareholders, and at this stage of the company, inappropriate. But you knew my opinion already......

DevonBob, and others. IMO and it’s only an opinion, these sites might be free of commission but that doesn’t necessarily make them cheap to trade. The company offering these deals doesn’t do it as a charity, they have to make their money somewhere. How they will do that is via a share price mark up. So the price you pay will be more than the price that the broker pays. It’s impossible to say who is cheaper, a regular broker or a so called commission free broker, as you will never know what the mark up will be. But please don’t think you are getting something for nothing.

I disagree. Its one rig that is man-portable, nothing to do with one man. Its poor English from Eliza/Karl or whoever. If it was operable by one man it would probably be an Auger!

Colonel, I read it as one, man-portable rig, not there was only one man doing all the work. I think you need about 5 people per rig.
