The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
Yes it looks like I missed the best price of 73-74 by 1-2 days , but will also sell a chunk at 72p+ if it reaches that and then buy back for Divi or just after a 3-4p drop.
Good morning all, So do I feel epic.
Just back from 2 weeks+ sitting on a hot beach and full of food and drink to see the SP higher than I went away plus the new RNS about the next 10years etc.
Surely this should also give a boost to the SP , so where's my 80p ???
I don't think the buy back can start until after the results and it's been agreed and if it's a few hundred million shares they will have to buy them back via the market at market prices over a few weeks/months unless there is that volume just sitting around waiting to be bought.
So the SP should rise on the demand with luck.
Are probably on the way with £1+ in them.
I can understand anyone taking a little profit with this rise, but you can see what's going to happen next week.
With the results they will announce on the same day big share deals with free plus big buys for all/most of the directors knowing the SP is going to rise big time in the weeks to come. They are just setting it all up for themselves so I wouldn't be selling now just sitting tight and going with the train ride for £1
I guess it would be interesting to see just how much the B/Box has cost to set up against what is coming back although they will still be getting a small return moving forward.
It must have also given ITV the knowledge and experience to set up ITVX so it works and makes a profit. A good learning period / move.
I am surprised you haven't asked for place on the board with everything you know, or is/was that your ploy all along to replace the Dame with yourself.
So it could / should be a 10% buy back over a period of time and we are not yet sure how long, but that should /could be another 10p/20p lift on top of results so you can see why many are now buying and all thanks to tom. !!!!!!!!
Tom you do talk a lot of rubbish, just because you have been ranting for the last 1-2 years you actually think someone /anyone has listened to a word you have said is remarkable .
Get real, it's just the rest of us have had faith and knew that at some point things would change.
So if the results are in line with expectations I think we can see £1 back on the cards soon after.
Many will pile in now as worries about the divi have gone. £1 soon !!!!
By using all this money for buy backs just shows they have no problems at all about the level of debt. The best businesses always use other peoples money to growth the business and not their own money as long as the debt doesn't get out of hand. Smart move.
tom you so fickle .
Maybe this is just the start of the bod's being pro-active with the shareholders with the SP being so low.
Anyway if we had a special Divi for this money return we would only get taxed more from the Divi on top of the normal Divi tax.
Yes nice to get a little bit of good news for a change and maybe the start of lots more good news in the results , but you can bet our tom will find a way of ranting about it in his normal way.
It's a little strange that they haven't waited to release this news with the results in just a few more days though, but again does that mean there is even better news to come.
Anyway tom just answer the question, if the Dame is voted in again for another 5 years are you going to continue to rant for another few years or are you going to sell up and move on ???????>
So I emailed the Dame about 6 months ago as a concerned and interested investor with valid questions and got a nice reply, but you won't get anywhere by sending a ranting email your just wasting your time.
So tom I would like to ask you a question.
For the last year or so you have ranted and ranted about getting rid of the Dame, so what are you going to do after the AGM when she has been voted in again for another 5 years. still carry on ranting or sell up and walk away ??????
Knowing VOD and the city I guess this is already priced in and the SP could even fall.
Dame to extend her position for another 5 years following AGM vote.
This could be another one of those offers that wants to grab a company really on the cheap and where there will never be a higher offer than say 67p-69p and they all walk away. Don't get carried away thinking there will be a much higher bid because there may not be and the SP could fall back.
Hi contrarian 123, yes we can hope to remove the top people but only with AGM votes and by / with the majority of the shareholders if that's what they want.
But the small pi shareholders don't carry much sway so have to go with all the others. sad but that's life no matter how we feel and what we post on here. All companies go through bad spells and good times so maybe the good times are coming soon. let's hope.
Hi omalley123, how can any of us give advice to others, none of us really know what's going to happen.
I have bought shares before in other companies at 70p which are now 1p-2p, some at 25p-50p and held for 5 years but then sold them thinking they will never come back only now to find they are £1.20+. bought others at say 80p held for ages and then sold thinking I will make up elsewhere and the new shares gone down but now the original shares are £1.40. It's just a big gamble. We all know that ITV is worth a lot more maybe £1.50 - £2 at the right time, I guess if you don't need the money then maybe sit it out after all you will at least get the Divi approx 5p a year. How can anyone tell someone else what to do, it's a mugs game but we all play it hoping to make at some point. best of luck.
