The Coach Travel Group has recorded a major expansion of its footprint with the purchase of operators Clarkes of London, The Kings Ferry, Lucketts Travel and Worthing Coaches from National Express Transport Solutions.

They join nine other operators already within The Coach Travel Group fold. Among those is Stewarts Coaches of Reading, which was purchased by the group from National Express in late-2024.

In what the purchaser describes as “a strategic move,” the latest deal will restore the local identity of each business while maintaining private hire, contract work and other coach service provision. That will include continuing to operate scheduled services on behalf of National Express.

Speaking about the purchase, CEO Tom Stables says: “We are thrilled to welcome these four operators to The Coach Travel Group.

“This is a powerful example of our mission in action bringing together respected regional brands, many with family-run heritage, and giving them the support they need to thrive in today’s market. We are not only safeguarding their future – we are giving them the tools to grow.”

Mr Stables adds that purchase of The Kings Ferry and The Kings Ferry Connections “strengthens our ability to fulfil nationally through the established team, bringing with it a highly regarded sales platform and a significant, longstanding client base.”

He notes how such assets complement The Coach Travel Group’s model, enhancing collaboration across its operator portfolio “and enabling seamless, in-house fulfilment.”

When coupled to a substantial partner operator database, “this integration allows us to rapidly scale operations to support major events and meet the demands of high-intensity clients with consistency, flexibility, and reliability.”

Each of the operators in question have been family-owned in the past before coming under National Express ownership. Andrew Luckett, part of the family that founded Lucketts Travel 99 years ago, was recently appointed Chief Technology Officer by The Coach Travel Group.

Mr Stables adds that purchase of the four businesses significantly bolsters The Coach Travel Group’s presence in the South and South-East of England.

“Importantly, we are continuing to operate scheduled coach services on behalf of National Express, which remain a crucial part of the UK’s national coach network. At the same time, we are committed to restoring each operator’s local identity and empowering them to grow in the private hire and contract space,” he concludes.

National Express UK and Germany CEO Kevin Gale says that the Mobico subsidiary is pleased to complete the deal with The Coach Travel Group and has welcomed its debut as a partner operator on scheduled services.

But did MCG still own these coach businesses that have just been bought, ? if so MCG would put out an RNS up-dating us about the sale and £ of this deal.

Due in November about the 7th, so should give us a much better understanding of things as we are still on track for year end numbers.

Many keep coming on here saying we are all losers and how ITV is a cra* company and we are wasting our money and time, but like you and many others who are still holding have been paid back with what over 6% return on our money and much better than any interest savings account so far and the SP will go back up.

We all know it's only a question of time before this hit's £1+ and who really cares if it takes a bit longer when we are getting a good return on our money while we wait. Might buy in more today if it goes down to 74p ish ready for the up-turn.

Looks like a great time to top up after ex divi 1.7p so maybe 73p ish.

Never sold out and still holding many thousands. even though I have bought and sold some along the way.

The products might be profitable but the overall business is still loss making and until that changes the brokers will hold this back.

We all expect this to go down 2p-3p on Wednesday after ex divi and will then buy more at say 73p ish. just normal trading for ITV over the last year.

You seem more worried about the SP than most of us holders Why Didn't school teach you about up's and downs.

Let's get this con/call at 9.00 am out the way first with a number of broker up-dates and then hold 50p, then we can start to call a turn round and look forward to better times.

So many dreamers on here, If you are holding and unhappy with ITV then sell, simple. The world has moved on so have the markets and sectors and if the Dame hadn't made these changes ITV may not be here . It is what it is . Some may wish they hadn't invented mobile phones but they did, Mat busby left M U , population used to be 54 mil, but things change. all very sad.

Contrarian123, I think after a few months now we are all begging to know who you really are.

Your not an investor of anything because if you were you would be spending your time researching / investing in the companies / sectors you were invested in rather than spending all your time trying to wind others up. in ITV which you do not hold.

I think your just a lonely social media poster trying to get a kick out of other peoples good / bad luck. I bet you have just crawled out of bed still in your jim jams with no job to go to and claiming benefits while you waste away your time.

It's all a bit sad really, I am sure you would get some benefit from a job where you meet others in real life. But your probably going to come back and say why would you work as you were already a multi million air .
