I bet Liberty are kicking themselves, after all they sold 5% thinking they would never be able to do the same thing as Sky but maybe they never tried.

Just goes to show how fast things change in media.

Now a nice £1.80 bid for the lot this week will be ok with me.

Let's be honest here as we have all seen this sort of thing before.

When a company like say ITV sell off part of their business for whatever reason price to bolster the total business we all think great a pay day for all, but in reality after a few days of SP rises a fall takes place and we are back to where we were before it all started.

Not only that once a deal is done the company benefit with the extra cash but we share holders don't see any of it, and the only true benefit in SP is when the business is re-rated or a takeover offer is made and then the SP goes up.

So my guess now is this part sale will go through which might take 6 months and then things might start to happen. On the other hand now that ITV have started the sale gun others will come forward with a total bid while the SP is still low. After all if ITV get the go-ahead to sell normal TV to SKY then there is nothing stopping ITV selling the lot now, it's the same work being done to get the go-ahead.

Good afternoon all, yes a very interesting weekend and going by all the press and people that seem to be in the know about this sector it does seem that many / most all think ITV have no other choice and it will go through.

I know they have said it's at an early stage but I guess it will take 6-9 months to complete. In the meantime anything could happen with others showing their hand and pushing up the SP . Still also think there could be a special divi in this for all holders.

Once this bit is sold off then yes the studio business could also go for £1.25-£2 a share.

Going by all the press and news channels , it looks like this will get the go-ahead.

So if it does the SP is likely to go up to maybe £1.25+ ,plus we might all get a special divi of 50p for part of our business being sold.

Contrarian, it sounds like you are clutching to anything you can to make it look like you know what your talking about, you keep going on about losers but it looks to everyone else you are the biggest loser here and have now missed the boat

None of us have said we have lost any money at all. give it a rest and just watch the SP go up.

Well this shows ITV have now said we are open for any buy talks. who knows what will happen.

Why couldn't we have had this info and price gain when we were trading at 85p a little while ago.

But also now we know ITV (the Dame) wants to sell this bit, we could get more interest and push up the price.

Good morning all, looks like we might get some good news for a change.

But where are the childish normal remarks from the few ?

So surprised we haven't had the normal few on today first thing as the SP has gone down at the start, but we losers are used to it and it won't make the slightest difference.

But what does one expect from a group of people in a new government that just takes power after 14 years of opposition.

These guys/girls have had NO business experience of running a company NO idea of employing anyone, NO experience of keeping costs under control.

It sounds great to get into power and spend, spend, spend, and let everyone working to keep paying the bills.

There should be a law that anyone taking power must have some sort of experience to do the job.

Well that's better than I was expecting, ok we knew there would be some advertising drops but because of the plan the overall business is still up in these difficult times.

But you can now also expect all the de-rampers to focus on the negatives points because they have no where else to go.

No one that I can see on this board is trying to blame anyone for anything that happens, it's just trading and NOT a personal thing but that's what you always trying to do and get a kick out of it.

The board themselves have said in the last week , that there is NO need to raise more money and they won't be looking to change the current financial arrangements .Should only be a week or so for trading up-date when that should be cleared up. I hope.

So why can't I make outlands stupid positive remarks like the outlandish stupid negative and childish remarks you and a few others make.
