High interest rates, Bring it on.
For the last 10 years many retired people have had almost nil in interest payments on all their savings, bring back the 1990's -2000's when we had 5% - 8% - 10% and good trading on the markets. Tom you are probably too young to even remember but life was good then. It's only fear itself for the younger investors that think nothing will work with higher interests. keep watching you might learn something.

Trouble is I don't think it would make any difference, one of the main problems as I see it is the extra energy costs for cooking all those products which must at some point hit the bottom line.

Strange also so far today that following the Con call there has not yet been any new broker up-dates that I have seen.
Often some brokers are quick out of the gate with new up-dates after many H1 results.

maestro1, the point I was making was THG have made a loss for the first half because they have said they haven't passed on all the extra costs in price increaes, that may not be all the problem but some/ most of it.
John Lewis have also said today that they have made a loss in first half some of which is due to them not passing on all their extra costs ie price increases. So THG is not that far put of line and if both now pass on many new price increaes the position changes or should change for the better.

The John Lewis Partnership has warned its annual staff bonus is at risk this year after it slumped to a first half loss of £99m and said the outlook in the run-up to Christmas was “uniquely uncertain”.
The group, which is staff-owned and includes the Waitrose supermarket chain, blamed soaring inflation for the loss in the 26 weeks to 30 July, which compared with a £29m loss before tax in the same period last year.

“No one could have predicted the scale of the cost of living crisis that has materialised, with energy prices and inflation rising ahead of anyone’s expectations,” said Sharon White, chair of John Lewis Partnership. “As a business, we have faced unprecedented cost inflation across grocery and general merchandise.”
I understand they have also NOT passed on all price increases yet, so THG is not that much out of step. should rebound at some stage.

Looks to me as though the SP is being held down around this level as long as possible so GNC can buy their 10m share buy back, well now 7m so far so it won't be long then they will let the SP rip to £1.20 + again. I hope.

Well after reading all of the RNS I think it's fair to say on this board sofar it's about 50 /50 split rampers (positive ) and de-rampers (negative) views.
But come on let's try to be open minded they are still building a good business with growing sales, ok the profit levels are down but that looks like they knew that would happen as they ahven't yet passedon all the price increase costs. Looking forward it looks like it's still all going to plan so let's see what the city make of it.

So why is it now the time to load up, this could be £1.30 or less this week, surely it would be better for many to just sit tight for a few days. What do you know that everyone else doesn't, even the city will have trouble thinking AML can still be a going concern without more money than this needed.

Muck 165, couldn't agree more, we all know at some stage this is going to be diluted to nil for all pi's the train is already coming down the line the BOD's have said.
But with luck some posters are trying to make a quick buck and get out before the announcement which is fine but don't expect to have any money left if you just intend to hold and see how it works out.

The way AML has beern going there could still be more shares issued in another 3-6 months if they cannot turn this dead dog around.
Shares in AML over the last few years have traded what from maybe 30p - 1900 and back down and every time they issue more shares to stay afloat we get more and more dilution, over the next few weeks thiscould settle down to £1.30 ish who knows so posters should stop telling other posters it's a great time to buy, none of us know where this will settel so it's just a great big gamble. All those that invested at what 1900 or 1200 will always say this will go back up but will it????????

God morning all,Cine / courts had 2 choices , 1 to go bust and try to sell off everything , 2 to let the business carry on trading while they sort out the placing.
It's best for everyone to let it carry on trading but it won't matter what the SP goes to 2p-10p the bod's don't care as when the placing / rights comes that will all be worth nothing to the current holders as their investment will be worth 0 unless they also take part in the placing and put new money into the business.

Goodness head in the sands, It doesn't matter if the sp is 2p or 10p when the placing / rights issue comes you will still be left with nothing. Yes get ready for the positive news very soon now. !!!!!!

I guess it the SP could fall to £1.03 the new issue price, then it might be a good bet.

Confirms all our fears, so what must this be in terms of numbers 3,4,5,6 share placings and dilutions and what will the SP end up as £3.30 or below.
Will this company ever make a profit or a return to it's shareholders or should I ay the PI shareholders and do they care. I guess not.

Nothing to stop the CEO of taking this private but it would need to be £1+ to get it away. So bring that on.
