Yes great to see 2 new broker targets, 1 for £1.30 and 1 for £1.40, give it a few weeks and we will be up there again.

VOD must now hold the record for the amount of debt they owe at £45bn or so , but it doesn't seem to matter to them.

Very strange is it not that only 4-5 days ago Deutsche comes out with a target price of £2.15 just before they know what's in the results.

So anyones guess as to where the SP will be today maybe 98p ish but could hold tight for 10 days and get it 3.5p lower after divi day when it could be 95p ish !!!!

Yes debt seems to be the biggest problem here with MC aprox £28b and debt about £44b that I can make out, just how many other companies owe twice what they are worth?

Hi vodger, yes that 's what I was thinking, somewhere around the £1.02-£1.04 seems very good value and should go back up to £1.20 + after this week plus a divi.
Anyway finger on the buy button ready for £1.02 ish but may still push the button at £1.04. all the pennies make a difference on thousands of buys.

Over the last 10 years or so I don't know if PFD has ever gone up on results day, and this now looks like following the same path.

Is when a company has lots of cash around and does not want to give a Divi , so decides to buy back more of their own shares at a price from the market. The idea is that if they buy back a total number of shares then those shares get taken off the books so the total number of shares on issue is less and if you devide the number of shares left in the market against MC the shares left and owned by the share holders should go up and so be worth more. Does it work, yes in some cases and will it work in CNA who knows. Just a quick breakdown and I hope that helps.

Good up-date and a very clever move by CNA, this way they can say they are giving money back to the shareholders via the buy back but NOT giving a Divi to shareholders so the media cnnot have a go at them while all their customers are on hard times.

If the us results go against the city views then the US market will drop by hundreds and the UK market will also drop by maybe 100 points with ITV going down to 65p.

Sorry but it's not just a normal temporary pull back after a strong rise from the bottom.
Remember this is only about half of what it should be and was a few months ago, and should be back over £1 now.

I agree with the rns and think it's a great up-date. I did sell some last thursday at about 68.5p thinking they would go down but called that wrong when I saw the SP at 73p ish, but after now seeing this drop I might still be able to buy more back in if it hits the 65p I was looking for. Long term this must hit £1.20+.
