Barclays raises Vodafone price target to 120 (115) pence - 'equal weight'

Well normally most companies that do share buy backs do cancel those shares in treasury at some point, but maybe CNA want to keep the option of selling them back into the market if they run short of money !!!!
Also a small point that have you noticed all/ most energy suppliers have/ are putting up economy 7 overnight electric prices, just in time to sting all those that thought they would get cheaper electric over night for charging their electric cars.

2 points that I see,
first the % is based on only 71% of total votes because it says without MSG %. holding, so I guess you would expect that.
Second now that MSG have a bloody nose will they now make a full bid to show their true aims , or just let it go.

So what's going to happen today then ?

I think you can read more into this if you want to, but it does look like they have bought the extra shares off of someone else and not in the market so that means there could be a game on here.
Remember that they or anyone else could make a full bid at any time for any shares as do not need to already have a 30% holding, it's only when someone holds a 30% holding they then have to make clear their intentions.
But one thing is for sure and that is VOD are undervalued.

If it gets to 85p I will sell some and try to buy back in again while still holding more.

Hi baldie, yes I am linking ITV a bit to the total market because whatever we think ITV should be and that's over a £1 which I thought it would have reached by now with the total market at it's highs.
But if the marke does go down at some point soon and that's what most of the world thinks then it will have some influeance on ITV price. I am just saying do we carry on buying when we know at some point we could get left high & dry. The days of just buying and holding are long gone, so buy and sell when you make enough.
But we all know what's enough as we do it because we can.

Now getting back to ITV.
For many years we would normally see a market correction in Jan-Feb and as the market is now also at the highs and much talk of down turns, we could also be thinking when will it start to decline and with it ITV . Always a guess as to whats going to happen but my guess is within the next few weeks we could drop 200 -400 points. Now with ITV pushing 80p-85p will it get there before it starts to drop, and should we sell ? Any views

But still over a £1 to get us going !!

No just a few profit takers, it will soon go back to making ground into the 80's. slow an steady wins the game unless you are a full time day trader and work on 1p-2p gains.

What's the betting that a certain broker now comes out with another very low Price target, to try and stop the rise.!!!!!!

Looks very positive for ITV which could take SP over 80p today.

So if this is true then I can see the SP going up lots, the city love it when companies cut costs.

Many will buy in for a big profit when the SP goes to £1.

Hi The Trotsky. I wouldn't be surprised if MSG put in a bid say for 60p and many shareholders sold to them before the deadline which there normally is.
Then the bid in total failed but because MSG still ended up with just over 50% of Topps due to a large number small shareholders selling to them , MSG would then be the largest shareholder and in control even though they didn't own all the shares. With 51% they can call the tunes.

Hi there, time to buy. the trouble is some brokers were putting out a price target of £1.20 ish last May which might have been correct but they never say what time line they are talking about.
So maybe CNA is worth £1.20-£1.40 at some stage i guess it's down to how long you want to wait to get there.

Hi wimbledon, I also sold more the other day and bought back in yesterday at 76p while still holding many more and
now ready for the next rise again.
I think the very low broker price put out was to try and drive down the SP to buy back cheaper and ready for the Final results which look like they will be very good. ITV have been up and down so many times over the last 3-6 months with the high getting slightly higher each time and the next high should be 82p-85p.

Mary , I am afraid so av about £1.45.
Should have ave down but been busy buying and selling ITV and Vod which I did again yesterday after the big fall at ITV.
Got to make money when you can and it's all about luck.
Not worried about GNC as I know it will come back so I might still buy back if it drops again to 65p-68p

To Dec 31 st has now finished and going by what they said in the last trading up-date , ITV has performed strongly delivering a 6% increase in total revenue for the first nine months of the year, driven by double digit growth in both digital revenue and revenue from ITV Studios.
So if things have carried on as planned then we are looking at some very strong sales and results., which should take the SP back over the £1 mark
