Companies affected by tariffs will be sending their teams worldwide to re-negotiate business relationships or forge new ones. This guy had no clue to how sophisticated European and Far Eastern auto manufacturing is.

The rare earth thing is interesting. My son who knows about this says if the rare earths were worth expoliting Glencore et al would have been in there years ago. It always amuses me types like IAG Longterm mention shorting as if they are sitting on millions with the ability to short a multi billion pound company. Without being rude I often feel these boards attract lonely types who sit in their bedrooms harbouring massive delusions of financial grandeur.

I am not suggesting this is you but I often get the impression that types like you are a bit lonely and lacking self-esteem. They come on sites like this to build up their ego by making all sorts of fantastical claims. I watched the interview and 3 things hit me. 1. I wish I had more cash to top up. 2. the secret of these industrialist geniuses is that they can explain in simple terms how to transform a business 3. It is a pity that the likes of Tufan cannot run the country instead of our ungifted amateurs. Tufan is exactly the sort of guy Thatcher would have persuaded to give her a hand! Your reasoning has always been sound on this. Institutions may be getting frustrated by the SP volatility. I often wonder how Stuart sees his future. He is young and ambitious. With Amazon taking a stake in MKS it gives Stuart a whole new horizon and the potential to make very serious money. The institutions who would be delighted to take Amazon paper. Could be a neat and inexpensive move for Amazon. In the world of retailing MKS is a pearl.

The idea of ASDA being a threat to M&S seems somewhat far fetched.
