I could not agree more. My Japanese wife is like most of that race incredibly judgemental about all things retail yet with MKS she never has a bad word to say about the stores, products and management. I am holding for the 3 year view. The sooner ASDA closes down the better. Leighton will never fix it and its a drag on the premium retailers like Sainsbury, Tesco and MKS. I suspect Stuart will shock us with excellent results in May. What we should all do is email both Archie and Stuart asking them to refrain from sounding anything but upbeat. Fine to be cautious but you cannot expect the market to be confident if all the time you seem to be looking for storm clouds. How Stuart and Archie have positioned MKS is just brilliant: not too expensive to deter the aspirational and with a brand strength to appeal to the affluent middle classes who will never return to a very tired Waitrose. If JL were a public co able to raise money for deep store investment it might be a threat but it is stymied by lack of funding. MKS staff are bouncing with energy whereas demotivation is everywhere in JL.

As a newcomer I have been hugely impressed by Tim's grasp. It's clear that The Rolls Royce needs his sort of leadership. Diversity is key in running a plc and the Non exec board need Tim as his particular stupidity would give balance

I find his entire manner highly distasteful and I suspect I am far from being alone. His are not opinions they are incitement. Inexperienced investors might be influenced with disastrous results. Others here adopt a more nuanced and muted stance in stating a buy/sell opinions.

I am back with a filter. I make one point. To give financial advice one has to be regulated. I find it wrong that one particular individual is giving buy/sell advice as if he was qualified to do so: it is really unhelpful....I leave aside the showing off.

I was planning far too late to try to balance my small portfolio. I am a nervous investor but plan to hold for the next 3 years. Am I too late for RR especially if the world quietens down. Any guidance appreciated

Those who heeded the 'sell, sell sell' advice at 347 are sitting on a massive loss. I truly feel that people giving this sort of advice with absolutely no qualification apart from a gut feeling are quite irresponsible. I am quitting this site because I feel Fender absolutely ruins it.

Good point. Courdelion and one I overlooked. I just find the pure vitriol offensive and so pointless. I learn a great deal from.people here who have a deep understanding of retailers and how the market is developing as well as the obstacles and opportunities that lie ahead.
