Fender I am up 15% so quite happy. I am not sure where you got the idea I am angry with you. As I repeatedly state I am holding the stock for 2-3 years.

Fender, I am at a loss. I am not sure what the substance of your complaint is. Many of the comments here express reasonable doubts about the company's strategy. What you will find is that the vast majority of the positive comments are from those who take a long term view of prospects. Incidentally, no one has accused you of being a short seller. In order to be a successful shorter of this stock you would need to be a very substantial investor. I am really mystified by exactly what is making you so angry

I agree. They have been feeding the analysts a good story hence the reason there has been little downgrading of forecasts. Probably copying Next's tactic of surprising the market in a good way

Fender, I have always praised your call on the SP but don't you think you are just being difficult now? You like trading 500 shares here and there. That's fine. Others, you are so slighting about, have different horizons. Mine is a 3-4 year one and so whether the SP is 350 or 380 currently is not of especial interest. The fact that economy has grown even by a miniscule amount is a relief. It could have been negative. I will await the finals and my sense is that they will not disappoint and future guidance positive. You say you have no position and are very negative yet the other day you were hyper positive. I am a bit confused.

This is my thought for what it's worth. Others here are far more technical so I defer to them. AN & SM have said they don't look at SP all the time. I doubt that: most CE’s do.

Anyway, here goes. What both cannot afford to do is leave analysts with egg on their faces. Only a couple seemed to have reduced targets.

If SM did not feel he could not beat forecasts, he would by now be sending signals to analysts. If trading was tricky he would have seeped that out by now.

You don't want to leave that sort of tuning too late (or not do it all) and shock investors.

This makes me feel that MKS will beat forecasts and be upbeat about current trading. Maybe, at last, there will be an end to ‘turnaround and high wire talk’. If SN is able to do all this and provide a decent dividend maybe we will be in a new era?

Not sure where i got the idea he was single. Even more redoubtable! His family must never see him!!

He is still a young man with a plenty of go and a great attachment to MKS. I am sure he is there for the long term. I don't know what his incentive package is but it would be very annoying if a US company managed to lure him a way with a mega equity deal.

Interesting! I get the impression that you feel that Stuart may have too much 'detail mode'? I had that feeling myself but that does seem to be in the nature of the retail 'big beast'. If performance does falter then you and I both have that feeling that some form of agreed PE backing would come into being and the most obvious choice would be Blackrock who would be unlikely to want to get involved in any for financial engineering exercise. With the huge exposure it has it would want to support the incumbent team. When I mentioned you comment to AN about turnaround he said it had been dropped.

Just looking at Stuart and his hyper activity I have a feeling he is not married with children and MKS is his baby. I can well imagine his weekend are spent careering around the country visiting stores. Let's hope he stays fit! I have too much skin in this game and hope to do some re-balancing
