BBD what is your view on Pru v MNG (and others if you care to add)

Market seems to like the supply deal for Proleukin......
Still in the middle of the year range.
Another boost with the trading update would be nice.

I don’t like share buy backs.....it seems to be an open invitation to Hedge funds to ramp the shares up and sell them back to the company with little risk....
Once the buy back is done the shares drift down to where they started.....
And the winners are the traders who played the company, the broker getting commissioned for the buy back and those with eps bonus targets.

Today’s announcement of a phase II trial (surufatinib + tuoyi) is quite generic.....wonder if CH will say more about the target on Wednesday.

It is quite common for insurance companies to distribute other asset manager funds through a fund that mirrors the underlying fund....this might be described as the Pru Aviva property fund when the underlying fund is suspended the mirror fund also has to be suspended.
There may also be funds that invest in a portfolio of other funds (multi manager funds or funds of funds) these can also be affected but may decide to continue trading.

Suspension of illiquid funds is a well known issue and is unlikely to have a long term impact on MNG (or any other provider)....

Last year it was released on 29 jan and caused a significant fall.
The situation appears to have stabilised and hopefully there are no nasty surprises.

Was 15 jan last year.
Looking for positive results from recent product acquisitions offset by delays to contracts as a result of Brexit delays and contingency costs.

Positive that the COO has invested recently and could point to a brighter future.
I think sentiment was hurt last year by whatever happened in Finance and delayed the results. As far as I can see the company has performed well and in line with expectations but these v small caps are now seen through the lens of the Woodford debacle.
The company has well regarded management. I bought (a while ago at 45p) in the expectation that in 5-10 years they will build a much bigger company. They need to pick up more product lines from the M&A done by others and perhaps a much bigger deal than they have managed so far. I am pleased with the operational progress which I would like to see reflected in a higher SP.
I may buy a few more when the FY results are issued in March.

To make sustained progress towards 500p there needs to be a compelling reason to buy and hold...not sure the Board has that one thought through yet. Keeps changing its mind and the regular mis steps have allowed this to become a trading stock and price slides sideways and every uptick is a chance to realise a quick profit bringing it down again.
I hold bc I don’t want to trade and I hope that stability and predictability of earnings will eventually command a higher rating.. a yield in excess of 7% is a bit insulting for this company but then TSR has been poor for sometime.
If it does not provided me with 10% in 2020 I will sell up.

I suspect on. TSR basis that MNG may win in the short term as there is a potential for a re-rating up to 300p. Pru likely to track Asian growth at 12-15% gain pa will have the legs to beat MNG over longer periods.
As for AV and LGEN they are not necessarily good comparators for MNG. In my view AV does too many things and changes its strategy too often......may just hang around but it could surprise. LGEN seems a more interesting business. It has scale in investments that MNG lacks and has strong retirement business and direct investment in infrastructure and seems to be making a decent fist of the US. I hold them all but on a longer term view my favourites are

Telegraph tipping biovetrix sound like a similar operation but much smaller.

Looks like they all invest every month.....so must be a type of Share Incentive Plan.
Due to personal account dealing and closed period requirements they need to set up regular investments and get approval for any changes so they are not in breach of market abuse regulations.

SP is largely recovered I quite a short timeframe......makes you wonder why there was such a fall in the first place.

Good to see the Board investing in additional product portfolios. No doubt there will be more divestments in the Bayer Elanco merger.

Strong fundamentals for this company....we love our pets and private healthcare for them is only going to expand....

Poor investment over 5 years.......dividends approximate to the fall in the SP..TSR approx 0.

And the rises just keep coming.......
Good to see the SP ignoring the Middle East problems.....fundamentals and pipeline news will drive further progress

I would like to see the H2 2020 news flow set out....the last company presentation only showed the next 6 months. Happy to wait on the Savolitinib NDA it will be coming.
