No idea if I said that but like many I sell at a profit, I sell at a loss, I like many for some reason keep getting drawn it, times change, circumstances change but what appears to be constant is your absolute negativity because of your significant loss with Carole at the helm at easy jet. At the moment I have no holdings in ITV but I do believe there will be opportunities in the future. As for credibility how many times did you say it was going down, sub 50 etc etc. still waiting, won’t happen. Keep going though it is good to see it hurts. Ouch

Bid talk again based on nothing. The fact is Pentland Group already owns over 50% of JD. It controls strategic direction and works well with JD. It has no need to take control. For this very reason it is highly unlikely that anyone else would attempt a takeover as it simply could not succeed given Pentlands holdings. Now unless someone can counter this logical argument then let’s be content movement will be confined to growth and strategic direction.

It's inevitable that when ever there is a rise speculation about bids resurfaces. I suspect that the recent rises over the last week are all linked to the publication of NIKEs pending (as was)results. Analysts (by there very definition are smarter and much more in tune) would have been aware of the headlines before last nights publication and factored in the likely impact on JD and that was, could have been better but could have been much worse. Factor that into the fact JD is less exposed because of its diversification and this has resulted in a price increase leading up to and a nice boost today. This is solely my take up view but if someone really believes a bid is pending (which I would welcome) then put some meat on the bones rather aspirations.

Grey market and futures only showing 1-2% negative impact for JD tomorrow’s opening who knows given a mixed bag might hold or be up by end of day.

St Petersburg, London, Brighton, Wimbledon = same old bitterness, same old losses and no doubt same of vitriol.

This is what analysts are saying. Does not look good but all of this is expected and may be seen as a low benchmark in going forward. Given it’s already out there, hopefully any impact will/ should be minimal. Let’s see.

Nike’s Q4 earnings are due after the U.S. market closes on June 26, and expectations are… well, let’s say “cautiously pessimistic.”

Analysts are forecasting a sharp drop in performance: revenue is expected to fall about 15% year-over-year to around $10.7 billion, and earnings per share could plunge nearly 90% to just $0.11–$0.13 A B C. That’s a steep decline from last year’s $1.01 EPS.

Given the lows of the morning it is encouraging to see a limited loss at end of day. Seems like there might be a new (although limited) support level that could act as a platform in going forward. Hopeful as ever.

If there was any bid, merger or anything else why is the city not interested, currently 0.25 up. I would love to see it happen but all indicators point towards little interest and the potential of little share movement. Again if I am wrong why should we have more optimism than the city boys who don’t.

Here is a question that I pose as an investor in ITV.

ITV is currently valued at just under 3 billion and this is reflected in its current price. Most press reports speak of the studios on their own being worth at least 3 billion in its own right. If this was the case then you might expect the share price to be higher especially given that clearly there are on going discussions about a bid, a merger a selling off of prized assets. But the reality is that the share price is stuck sub 80p. if there was any substance or meaningful benefit to the share holders do you not think the city would be ahead of he game and pushed the share price up in anticipation? It has not. Now there are some savvy posters here and perhaps a response will be forthcoming, or perhaps it is it that the very premise of my question that is incorrect. I don't know. My view is that given there is no interest from the city boys there will be no share hike and only growth and strategic vision get us to where we want to be.

You have to analyse why discussions and various reports of bids or mergers have not seen a positive response. I suspect that its all about uncertainty in that if the studios are sold,ITV (whats left)would have no real purpose, momentum or raison d’etre. If this is the case the sooner all the bid/merger talk ceases the better for all. If it does not 80+ will be a pipe dream.

Given all the usual vitriol from the normal participants i have kind of switched off but has anyone mentioned the appointment of Catalina Ramirez as VP sales on the 23rd?. Her appointment gives indications as to direction and potential. So, for those who are interested have a look, for those who like to put anything and everything down just do the usual.

You are on fire today. Many valid points made but spoilt by your continued vitriol, there are many issues with debt, pensions, regulation etc etc. However debt is on most company books and if managed is seen as positive. Pension liability is not a stumbling point but a consideration. For regulation this is negated by a merger and not a takeover. Not forgetting that all of these issues can (or are) being worked towards. The real question is what would be left of ITV without its (perceived)crown jewels that is what would dampen any premium if it was not convincing to the city.

I have no idea what will happen with one exception and that is if a statement is made where merger talks have failed then the share price will fall back to the 60s.

Ignoring bids or mergers anyone any ideas why a 53 million purchase at 16:35?

This may come be a surprise to you but no one cares about your respect or your predictions they do (appear) to care about long non sensible posts, abuse for other posters, taunts, filtering and grandstanding.

So just be content with what will be beneficial to you and other investors in the knowledge that most of us have, at times made decisions that have not always gone according to plan.
