Wood Group has had several offers lately...the last was for £2.30. I think if shareholders were offered that price now, they'd jump at it!

Wood Group's current capitalisation is circa £360 million, it's share price is circa 53p. Clearly Wood Group is significantly undervalued. An offer must be on the cards - perhaps subject to the review...or wait for the review then, if all is 'OK', swoop down and quickly make the offer at the 'knock down' share price.

A hostile takeover is very rare and can be viewed as 'bad form', however, a hostile takeover could be on the cards...and may even be welcomed by employee shareholders (as they usually vote with management). Especially by those employee shareholder who are annoyed by the CEO's letter to employee shareholders, which started, 'All,'... rather that a far more courteous: 'Dear valued employee shareholder,' or similar...

If an offer or hostile takeover develops, I doubt any employee shareholder would vote with management (with management's crys of 'The offer significantly undervalues the company' or similar)...especially in light of recent events. I would have thought the employees would take the cash and bank it or pay down their mortgages. A no brainer!

There is lots to play for here...

@Garonne If you need the cash - then sure sell out. If you do sell out, diarise to take another look at the Prudential share price in late February 2025.

Prudential Plc is a very sound business with strong revenues and profits, which are forecast to continue. The Prudential share price will be a slow-burner for now, but when it rises, it will do so quickly. It's a no brainer hold for me, and I'll be very happy to continue to buy in the dips i.e. if it hits the circa £6.00 to £6.05 mark again.

I admit that I have not been invested in Zephyr for as much time as many investors on this discussion board. I can understand if some investors are frustrated with the slowish pace. This is my take on it...

Since I invested, CH has lined his ducks in a row and his RNS' are consistent and it seems to be each logical step has been followed by the next. CH has secured investment/finance to the tune of USD$7,000,000 and this has been agreed and is due to be signed-off shortly, and the equipment needed to drill is being arranged/booked for a Q1 start.

The alternative to 'speed up the drill' is to raise USD$7,000,000 for the same drill activity via new share issus or loan with no guarantee of success. I don't like either of those options. I think CH's road ahead is sound and has the least risk possible for Zephyr and its shareholders. I am happy to wait another 3-6 months by which time, I am confident progess will be made and the potential will start to be realised. The appointment of the new broker is also significant.

To me it seems it would be better to drill based on good findings (tests) and with finance in place (no debt or drag on cash-flow or dilution of shares). I am confident that a very positive outcome is just around the 'next bend'. I will hold for now and add when news of the drill is announced in Q1.

Capita investors in the know understand the next set of Capita results on 17 December will be favourable and will cause the share price to surge much higher to probably circa 21-22p maybe more. Watch this space!

When that happens, watch SavageKeyboard squirm and then burst out crying like a baby! Wahhhh wahhhhhhh! Lol

Just to state the obvious - Wood Group was the highest riser on the FTSE250 as at close of business today. Up 5.50%. Plenty of blue sky above before it shoots for the stars! Eh Laura2022?!

@Laura2022. You ask if I am bipolar. Well I suppose it takes one to know one. I have a question for you...are you some type of penny-stock stalker? You say I am also 'James at JOG'. I am not. Speculate all you like. I do not care, I am not interested.

The fact is Laura - you asked if I was invested in Wood Group. I have no reason to let you know about any of my investments. However, I actually thought you were 'OK' at the time (obviously I do not share the same view of you now) so I confirmed I am. FYI I have made two buy trades. The first for £75,000 (in three tranches of £25,000) when the stock plummetted like a rock by 60% in one day (while the CEO was sucking on his thumb) and I made a return of £11,500 in a very easy and quick trade i.e. purchased late afternoon and sold around 10am the next day. I was happy with the return, and as an investor - all I care about is returns.

When the Wood Group share price dropped (after the above) last week, I purchased £90,000 at circa 52p. I know a bargain when I see it. I will most likley add more should the share price drop.

I admit to know not that much about Wood Group - however, I am a very fast learner. With regards to the CEO, I have carried out my research and posted some of that on the Wood Group discussion board. Now read it or don't read it - I don't care. If you happen to think the CEO of Wood Group is wonderful then that is your opinion and you are entitled to it. Based on my research I happen to think the CEO is a waste of space and is on a good wicket (kind of like Geoffrey Boycott who when batting will defend his wicket at all costs, often to the detriment of his team and it's prospects of winning). I have met many incompetent CEOs in my time, and this CEO is in the top 5 for incompetency.

That said, Wood Group - despite the CEO and BOD - is a good company with brightish prospects. I wouldn't be invested if I thought otherwise.

I have had discussions with a few very successful investors. We have a view as to what will happen with Wood Group in the near future. Hence why I will stay invested and will most likley add on any dips until such time as the 'big event' is announced.

Yes it's just the first tranche of buybacks that has been completed, so more to come yet...

In light of current events, I met up with a few of my well connected investment friends over coffee this afternoon, and the consensus is that Wood Group is an attractive and definite takeover possibility, and we worked out some numbers that would/should be attractive to a potential bidder and shareholders. All hypothetical of course...I will say no more on this topic. IMO & DYOR

Given the above - despite the idiot and silent CEO and BOD - I will remain invested at 52p, take the punt and watch as this 'tragedy-drama' plays out...

@RafflesintheUK Actually the only one on the Capita discussion board 'deramping' Capita is the resident dark lord SavageKeyboard - but then he has rocks in his head...at least that's what Keir Starmer told me after he learned that SavageKeyboard voted Labour.

Prudential has a loonngg way to go to reach fair market value in terms of share price. It will continue to be a slow steady rise between now and late February 2025. Prudential is still a bargain at this price, and some early-bird investors are starting to wake up to that fact.

More Centrica dividends expected to be added Monday and Tuesday next week.

The winter cold snap starts from Monday next week also. Guess where investors start to think of where to invest, as they turn on their radiators...hmmmm, I wonder...

Expect the Capita share price to rise from Monday next week...

At least if Wood Group was subject to a takeover the CEO of Wood Group and its board would quickly be sacked.

Glad I sold Close Bros at £2.08. Doubt I'll be back in as the wannabe claims will be a mile high by now! I don't mind the odd punt every so often, when the price is right...but I'm not an adicted gambler!

Unlike SavageKeyboard where he has gambled and is all in (probably has a spare fiver tucked away in the sole of his shoe for investment purposes) with his one investment. Whatever stock that me be (it's a big secret of course known only to the SavageOne)...it must be one heck of a stock to have won an investment from the know-all anti-Capita (ex-Capita employee) 'investor'. Lol
