It makes me laugh when the Wood Group share price takes off, rather than enjoy the ride, some investors sell in the rise. Dumb and dumber!

The rise is WG specific... For example, look at that day-trade stock JD Sports, down 17% today and no sign of recovery...

'Something' remains in the wind! With the current jump to 4% today (as of this post), I refer to my previous post - I'm sure one of my points ('a' from memory) was that the silent CEO could issue an RNS...maybe tomorrow Friday is the day...

@nuri Well it could have been a lot worse! As soon as the CEO speaks up with some flowerly words (he should watch his video for some ideas!), the market may react positively and push the Wood Group share price up to 70p initially at least. Given the share price has dropped so much, a part-recovery play to circa 70p initially should be easy.

The 'game-changer' is the Capita One sale, which will be shown 'on the books'. For those who do not follow Capita, they will see the 'headline' net debt reduce by a significant amount both in terms of £ and %. This alone will boost the share price. I'll stick with my prediction that the Capita share price will rise to 21-22p after the results are announced (either same day or within a week). Unless, of course, there is a major macro event to cause most stocks to drop! Mock JO if my prediction is incorrect, but remember to praise JO if my prediction is on the money! I bet if I am right, people on here will 'forget' I made the prediction! Lol

Richard Holroyd, Capita CEO, Capita Public Service has just sent the market a message with his purchase of Capita shares. The smart money will follow shortly. Me thinks Capita upcoming results will be positive!

Well, you won't be disappointed then!

Wood Group share price will continue to tread water until either:

a) the CEO makes an RNS statement (fat chance!)

b) the review is completed (could be 1-6 months away...who knows...silence on estimated completion of review by CEO)

c) there is an offer or hostile takeover (it would most likely have to be from a previously interested party as they would be thoroughly familiar with the books).

On any of these, the share price could leap higher, plunge lower, or bob about as it has done over the past couple of days.

Does this summary help anyone? No? Thought not. Where is the CEO? 'Missing in Action' that's where! What is is salary again? I think I'd rather have Mildred the office cleaner run Wood Group!

I would add that:

The USD$7,000,000 has been negotiated and an 'agreement in principle' has been reached, it is usually one of the last items to be signed-off. Whether announced tomorrow or just before drilling commences, I doubt the RNS to confirm the funds have been signed-off will make much difference to the share price, as it is already a known factor.

I would have thought that whoever has agreed to invest/fund USD$7,000,000 would have a few experienced oilworkers to oversee (at a minimum) and report back to the investor/funder on developments once the drill is underway.

A farmin with a prestige oiler would be good, and would make a material difference to the share price. However, I can only think that CH has done his sums and believes there is better value for Zephyr shareholders with the current route taken.

Are you having a laugh?! Well let's see what the SavageOne would say... WW3 is on it's way. Meantime there is a cost of living crises, which will get worse as inflation continues to creep higher and higher. But none of this is the Labour's fault, no NIC had to rise and retailers inflating prices at the till has zero to do with rises in NIC contributions for the likes of Tesco, M&S, JD Sports and all other retailers. The weather is crook. The cat has died. Aunt Betty is in hospital. Uncle Bill got badly burned at the crematorium. Capita is doomed, and should be put to the sword immediately. No I am not an ex-Capita employee. Of course, Two Tier Kier Famer Starmer will ride in on his donkey and rented suit to save the UK economy. But either way, Capita is still doomed.

I think that about sums up SavageKeyboard's 'economic update'.

@officemanager. I have no 'interest' in Laura2022. She is clearly a ramper of Wood Group. She claims to have filtered certain people who as far as I can see have a different view to her own. When she does filter, she announces it to this discussion board, as if she is judge, jury and executioner and has accomplished something extraodinary! Good grief. So I called her out on it. End of story.

@oilworker. Thanks for that. I must admit I don't watch the Zephyr share price on a daily basis as the volume of shares traded is low, so any fluctuations in the share price between now and then don't bother me. I don't expect any further 'real' news/progress until the end of Q1.

This is one of those stocks that will slow burn, and then take off overnight once the drill is successful (via the USD$7,000,000 investment/finance i.e. at no risk to current shareholders). At that point, all the doubters who stay the course will say how wonderful CH and the rest of the management is for leading the company and carrying out careful tests and due diligence every step of the way... I've seen it all before.

At the time of this post Prudential is up 1.41% so there is positive sentiment. Ebbs and flows and all that.

Anyway, if you want to sell, now is probably a good time to do it.

Like I mentioned, check the Prudential share price in late February 2025.

Laura2022 says all who are in her 'filtered box' are talking Wood Group down and start with 'Jxx'. Given she has filtered them out how would she know what they have said? I haven't noticed any of that. Sounds like a desperate post (with a touch of conspiracy theroy to boot) from a stressed out investor who is deep under-water here.

Personally, I never filter anyone otherwise you can easily miss part of the point being made and/or the discussion thereafter. If the discussion does not interest me, I move quickly on.

Every person is entitiled to their own view and can change their view anytime. After all, analysts do that on a quarterly basis.

I've invested in a few LSE companies who had a change of management...and the results were dire - poor plans, poor execution, poor communication and almost zero transparancy and accountability with shareholders.

Less than 2 months ago, Zephyr's Half Year Report was published i.e. on 26 September. Showed good progress and good financials. This company is well run and the wins will come towards the end of Q1 2025. The fact is that by the end of Q1 2025, we will know whether or not Zephyr hits gold or not. The signs are positive - backed up by the test results. That wll do for me.
