I thought as much! Yes plenty of news and documentaries on the channels, just the adverts that ruin it all lol
Pretty basic business really, market something on behalf of a client, get paid on results. Mind you there’s a lot of agents need to sharpen up their act with the order taking era gone!
Aussie soaps eh….didn’t realise they were still on!
For people who complained incessantly about publicity and moved away to get away from it they seem intent in wallowing in it!
Prices have certainly slipped a bit the last couple of weeks, a few of my real estate trusts struggling in particular.
Mind you having watched Questiontime last night on tv I’m not surprised the markets are miserable, the audience certainly was!
Next week ‘Moggy’ is on, love him or hate him it’ll be good entertainment lol
The one they tried to poison?
I think he’ll be under heavy guard, worst thing about this are the Chinese etc supporting him through the back door like they do the fruitcake in North Korea!
You’d think civilisation had moved on from massive egos killing people for power and money!
Don’t know that one, only into boring divvy stuff these days although I did buy a few petrofac and Greencore recently, both of which have dropped further aaaarghhhh!
Not really following this one but as you say Sain it gets worse!
I’ve always believed agency is a cottage industry and the recent decades are littered with big business making the same mistake!
Remember prudential back in the day booking that crazy loss?
Only Hope here is someone or other sees value in the brand although I’m not convinced of that.
I think Putin lost the plot a long time ago and he’s totally boxed in because if he shows weakness he’s probably got a bigger target on his back than most Russians, head of the snake and all his cronies know they’ll go down with him. Solution I’m not sure it’s solvable without a coup and the Ukes are like we were when the jerries were bombing our cities…..as in not happy but very determined.
I saw mate. The blackthorn we put in a few years ago have sent out runners so we’ve been digging out some bare root ones and filling in a few gaps mostly, as you say great cover for the wildlife. I’ve picked a few sloes recently and started off some gin, otherwise they’re pretty unpalatable!!
Mostly in the caravan but venturing out for a few light jobs lol.
Thankfully it’s dry but defo not staying overnight weather!
Washing the car, watch out for ice around it mate.
Crikey it’s cold out!
Thankfully I’ve got a bulldog spade to get through the frozen soil brrrr!
Done a bit more planting around my Wassatt area, he’s now got some blackthorn(sloe) around his tree.
Hope you’re all doing okay?
P.s. I don’t work for the company or their agents lol
Hi Damien,
My only thought about all this is that it’s an income fund and it’s got a cracking dividend history and so to quote the cliche it does what is says on the tin.
My own experience is to spread risk over various funds, geographical reaches and individual holdings to provide frequency of income in a predominantly income portfolio and since all holdings could be considered risk, I mitigate that with diversity and looking too deeply into anything can be counter productive imo.
My only gripe with this one is the SP but I think that’s simply down to the value of the holdings rather than delivery of income, I’ve got better ones,I’ve got worse ones and frankly I’ve seen nothing posted here that makes me worry about this one in the context of risk. GLM
At least another buying opportunity, the offer never seemed to be going anywhere, added a few more GLA
No hostility in quoting what’s in black and white, I think you have an agenda rather than a desire to debate so I’ll leave it there. Good luck with your investments.
I don’t see what the fuss is about, dividends covered plus money into the reserves!
By the way the comment about some posters being paid agents or whatever is delusional and I hope that is withdrawn forthwith ade!

Edison issues update on Henderson Far East Income (HFEL)
In our last review of Henderson Far East Income in July, Attractive yield despite modest dividend increase, we drew attention to the dividend increase from what is comfortably the highest yielding fund in the AIC Asia Pacific Equity Income sector. It was pleasing to see that in the company's published full year results to the end of August, the dividends paid by the company were covered and that over £1m was added to the revenue reserves over this period. In this note we examine the drivers of performance, although it must be acknowledged that the weakness of sterling
Hi Sain, I guess with the comment from HH at that time he was comparing it to Taylors etc disrupting by opening 7 days, long hours, commission only negs etc upsetting the we close Saturday lunchtime brigade at that time….however I think he got this one wrong as all they did was destroy shareholders value and lower the fees bar for everyone by encouraging a raft of copycat and equally inept so called agencies!
I think single figures on the SP speaks volumes!
It’s often the safest conversation opener for sure mate!
Costain I’ve been in and out of for yonks but have been avoiding for the time being as I’ve become dividend-obsessed(even more so lol), and they’re still not paying as far as I know.
Those crazy Russians!
Hope you’re all doing okay, troj having previously moaned about no rain, nows the time I’m tempted to moan about it never stopping!
I avoid the news wherever possible but can’t help noticing the crazy Russian leadership still pursuing their madness and wonder what on earth they’re trying to achieve by carrying on with this?
Ponds filling up nicely and tree-planting going on when not raining, divs coming in,made a few quid from the Truss opportunity but still a long way off on the year overall mainly thanks to my big one in Raven Russia prefs that I’d held for years…with the benefit of hindsight I wouldn’t have invested in Russian warehouses but no point moaning!
Hi ade,
Just wanted to say regarding the fund I do appreciate the work you’ve put in on the research and objectivity shown and I’m eyes wide open but maybe more positive about them as often demonstrated purely on the delivery of the income rather than mechanism and hope none of my posts/views have come over as hostile. GLA
Hi Zac, I know how you feel with a seemingly perennial paper loss but come next Friday there’s that quarterly reminder(in some cases commiseration) for why we’ve all invested here.
If I’m really honest I don’t care how much of the divvy is made up from dealing,option-trading or whatever as long as they keep paying it and having had the income knock during covid when so many of my holdings didn’t pay, didn’t want to pay or were told not to pay etc I’m more favourable about those holdings, whether trusts or individual companies that did continue to pay.
On share price this one fluctuates along with the rest of them but having confidence that they must know what they’re doing or they wouldn’t keep paying gives me confidence to hold them as part of an income portfolio and I can think of plenty of ‘growth funds’ without anything like this income that have fared considerably worse in terms of SP the last few years….unfortunately I have some of them!
