Cheers Woody, you too mate.
Encouraging as ever to see a director buy, albeit modest.
Hi Sain, a friend of mine asked me to investigate a few properties they’d singled out before they book viewings the last few days and every single one had a good chat with the agents except you know who…..automated answerphone message telling me to go online, what a nonsense and frankly would put me off the property in a market where instructions and reductions are blossoming.
I fail to understand why any vendor would instruct these type of agents, total false economy on fees etc!
Didn’t realise animals were prone to it, been more concerned with bird flu here and restricting our hens still.
Hi Mick, cheers for that. These things normally recover at some point, surprised they made that announcement in a trading statement though?
There seems to be a lot of it around at the moment but few seem to be overly bothered about it compared to when it first came out. Let’s hope all those vaccines we had do the trick.
Sleet can easily go either way mate, luckily I’m set up with 4WD etc although if there’s ice under it doesn’t really matter how many wheels are driving!!
Cheers for the link troj, got an average of 275 and I’m not averaging down with no yield so will sit it out and grumble quietly lol.
I try not to worry about any of them if I can help it mate, my focus is all on divs these days and I’m more diversified than ever but have a few larger legacy holdings in things like persimmon, direct line and a couple of bigger trusts and with hindsight I’d have reduced them all to spread the risk more. Less in more/more in less strategies both have their advantages and disadvantages but as a friend once said, the only true profit is dividends and I’m more on board with that now because any gains I made on specy/ recovery things were dwarfed by the losses! Each to their own really.
Hi nom, got a mixed bag of them and trusts and take a view with 40/50% discounts to nav there’s a bit of a cushion but what do I know!
Didn’t realise coal was that much now, luckily I stockpiled that and logs when covid hit so doubt I’ll need to buy anymore for a few years lol.
Forecast is snow next week!
I’ve always looked at the market being detached from reality and forward facing or even totally irrational so I just have lots of holdings, diversify and hope for the best. I rarely look into them too deeply as I’ve got no control over what might happen.
Private sector as usual being squeezed to pay for the public sector.
Forecast is more cold stuff, maybe something me white stuff next week brrrr! We’ve put a couple of small ponds in recently and added sedge clumps etc to oxygenate and still planting blackthorns etc all over the place.
Having a bad day on shares with direct line canning the divvy, how inconvenient is all I can say as now stuck on a chunkier loss than persimmon!
I’ve seen igas and was half tempted recently when they were in the teens and keep looking at tower res but with so many reits etc knocking around on steep discounts I’m adding to them instead.
Afternoon all, another rainy day again…my ponds now overflowing nicely troj and no complaints about the drought of last summer now!
Hope everyone doing okay?
Hi Woody, you’re welcome mate. All risk and anything can happen but that’s what we do!! All the best too mate.
Creeping up in line with the nav imo and unlike EAT which I’m sure some of you also hold, a far more attractive dividend/income prospect. Agree with the posts here that capital growth secondary.
This one has always been a volatile share, even back in the days when it was trinity mirror! Year range says it all, traded it a few times over the years and in for a few this morning around 79, add dilemma sixties, sell dilemma 105/110 depending on confidence of the divvy going forwards. GLA
Read through from DLG and admiral I expect.
Some people go bonkers over it but we’ll struggle on lol!! Have a great one mate.
Cheers Mick, you and yours too mate. I must agree on a bad year except divs of course, the negatives have been relentless with war, covid lurking and crazy strikes etc etc….not to mention the weather!!
Hopefully we’ll see some positives take charge next year, no idea why that would be apart from a good dollop of mindless optimism! Here’s to a better one mate.
All the ponds brimming here mate!!
Happy Christmas all the regulars, past and present. Hope you all have a great time and enjoy the boredom of no markets for endless days lol
