I think I’m staying in the bunker! GLA!!

Just popping out of the bunker to say hi. Another horrible capital destructive week and spent out chasing ever bigger divvies which is my only positive other than that made up the raised beds and all that so will let it all settle then get planting.
Shares I’m flummoxed at the speed of decline and the oil price drop just finished the week off!

If and when the stock market/economy picks up again over there, Trump will rightly or wrongly walk it I reckon mate.
Heating our homes is a basic human right and there’s nowt they can do to stop us!!!
Right mate and all,good to catch up and let’s hope our shares don’t have another week like last week or I won’t be building raised beds and I won’t be joking about building bunker complexes!!

Hmmm,I think that’s good advice mate.
Mind you at least we haven’t got Corbyn borrowing money to nationalise everything,even though ‘our lot’ seem to have got the impression wood burns better wet and unseasoned....I reckon it’s a preamble to taxing logs lol!!

You need a raised bed then mate,or you could grow veg in big pots or dustbins if you were so inclined!! Clay very difficult to work on.
Picking up leaves eh. I’ll be bringing the log processing forwards as they’re banning ‘wet’ wood apparently....as if anyone’s going to go and check it’s seasoned before you burn it!

I’m quite relieved as reassuring people was a full time job once the sales were agreed with all the pitfalls in that long drawn out process,the last thing you need is some panicky factor no one can actually reassure on! We all need somewhere to live etc etc but moving up the line might not be such a good call unless they prop it with cheaper lending.
So far as shares go mate,I’m planning to be too busy Monday as it’s quite stressful watching it drop although drax went up a bit now they’re not going to burn coal all the green-washers will fill their boots!
Easier to work the raised beds for us oldies lol,mind you better drainage and can get a better depth for the parsnips as can load soil and compost on top....the theory is bigger parsnips!
Looked to me that the yanks clawed a bit back Friday but with the news full of virus spread and fresh wars in the middle east who knows where we’ll end up?!

I think I was in shock Friday night mate,just felt like the banking crisis days without the relief rallies on the way down!
Ground’s a bit wet so going to set up some raised beds tomorrow and get ready to plant some parsnips,tricky little seeds them so will cheat again and buy the ones on a strip,a bit like masking tape.

Hi all,hope everyone bunkered down with this latest assault on our share prices! All looking gloomy and I’ve been thinking oversold for so long that it’s just layers of oversoldness piling on now lol.
On a positive note it’s been easy digging holes for tree planting etc with the ground so wet and I haven’t got stuck yet!

Thanks for the link on imb mate. Had some bats that went up a tenner within the last year or so whereas imb have dropped a tenner....annoying as guess which one I’ve got most in! Oh well,only money!
This time next year Rodney and all that. Keep a vague eye on the specs but everytime one seems to rise,once you strip out the spread and the seemingly inevitable retrace it’s back where it started. Like you no doubt often think of Wassatt particularly when having a good whinge about shares. In between various jobs still building little wildlife shelters and bird boxes etc in the trees plus around the ‘Wassatt’ trees I planted. Take care you and all and catch up soon.

As it happens they haven’t. Think tobacco oversold like oil,oil services,real estate,miners,banks ,retail....in fact most of my p/f. Took a few profits on some insurers that went well but somewhat dwarfed by the losses showing elsewhere.....plus no thousand percent risers either....again! Catch up later mate

Afternoon all. Just reeling from a profit warning on imperial brands,seems to be the norm now. Microfocus yesterday,shell last week aaaarghhhh. Not all plain sailing on the big stuff these days. Hope everyone doing okay?

I think I’m pretty diversified but lean heavier towards the yieldy stuff as dividends are the only true profit imo. On trades etc o probably lose more than I gain on balance but divs are always winners!
On the specs/recovery stuff I’ve put them in a separate account and this years strategy is buy and hold less in more and try not to trade in that account so they do what they’re going to do....I’ll let you know at the end of the year how many times I switch strategies lol.
Good idea on the butterflies and bees. Picked up a load of seaweed on the beach earlier as good free manure for the trees too.

I see the logic for sure and on the rare occasion I see something I think is ahead of itself they’re gone pretty sharpish but like all of us opportunists out there the buy too quick/sell too quick syndrome is well practised!

I guess in our super connected and trade-entwined world anything could happen and sometimes the market wants an excuse to rise or fall whatever the reason and I can’t quite remember the expression but wasn’t it if China coughs we cough harder...or was that the yanks,not sure? It’ll be interesting to see if they build that hospital in a week,quite a hive of activity with all those diggers at it.

Difficult to say on construction as cost has bounced from a big low,I remember pre-cons waiting a lifetime(it felt that at the time) for them to get to 30p! Kier and galliford both slipped back from the bounce but the election promises and all that to link the north and south would help with HS2 and now panorama has pointed out the bleeding obvious flaw with smart motorways and not enough lay-bys means there’s money to be spent,who knows!
The virus is another hot topic for sure, buying opportunities ahead or building deep bunker aspirations maybe?!
Maybe I’d better hurry up and finish those greenhouses!

Greenhouses.....I’ve got three that were given to me and all in various stages of being unfinished,very fiddly to put together and no point getting annoyed as the glass is sooooo thin!
Shares,some doing okay,some not. Mixed bag of specs mixed abd gains in things like costain offset with Bt,rmg types hitting new lows aarghhhhhh.
AA,the hornbeam is excellent wood,been making bird boxes with it amongst other things(burning lol). Hope fully won’t shrink too much as made them ‘green’ and top coat of stain.
