On the topic of things going the right way I’ve just looked at the p/f and bizarrely find myself in profit on AA as in automobile association. Haven’t got a massive holding but with my sporadic scattergun approach must have hit them right plus Volga gas which is even more of a surprise as they were somewhat lower when I last looked!

Same here bud, certainly getting a bit choppy out there but the way I see it,buying British land on a five year low now yielding 6.7%...what could possibly go wrong lol. Mind you I had the same thought when I piled into hammerson and land securities a couple of weeks ago,hmmmm.

There’s always a turning point when the insti buyers get stuck into the blue chips when they’re too cheap just what that point is who knows! More importantly I’m accumulating plenty of wood because that’s one thing I don’t want to run low on(alongside beer and fags of course!!).

That tractor might be digging a deeper hole soon bud! Haven’t really kept in touch with all the movements but added a few British land today and back into my old favourite Tullett Prebon which merged to become tcap and all healthy yielders so just doing odd bits to increase the overall yield really and not taking too many risks on trading. Weather a nuisance at the moment for us outside workers!

They have trimmed the tops of a few of the smaller ones and the rabbits etc seem to like digging under a few but happy to let nature do its thing and replace a few fallers here and there. My old boy always referred to it as a ‘managed wilderness’ so I’ve kind of created that in his memory too.

We reckon over 6,000. The ones coming at the weekend are leftovers from a job my landscaper mate has given me so that’ll fill another corner and there’s a few gaps from last years drought although that’s also given some a bit more growing space so all good bud.....unlike the shares which are mostly bad lol

He was a great bloke,always around whenever I popped by with friendly chats and will be greatly missed. Virtual friend or otherwise he wouldn’t want us to mope around for sure and I’ll take the positive that we had his friendship for all the years and know it was reciprocated.

Have held these for yonks as a chunky part of my income p/f and no complaints on that side of things but the drop in a week of nearly 20% seems overdone imo so once again I’ve been adding too and expect a slow climb back to what was in my case ‘in profit’ with a 3 in front. I never sold any when they hit the threes and doubt I will next time either. GLA

Sad day,my deepest condolences to his family. Will miss catching up with him on here and the crew here must be devastated . I believe he fought it till the end and never seemed to show any bitterness or demanded pity,goodbye Wassatt,rest in peace my friend.

Just popping in to say hello. Not much to cheer about on the markets of late but still doing a bit here and there. Hope everyone doing okay and we get some respite from the current round of capital destruction soon!! Thinking of you Wassatt,all the best mate and all.

Overall I’m getting 6-6.5% on the income p/f based on last year bud.
