Morning all, hope everyone doing okay. A bit of a rollercoaster few weeks since I last called in. Some good trades and bounces been going on and also some incredible bargains around depending how you look at it!

Thanks for the link mate. That’s certainly a scary number on debt! I don’t really see Carlsberg as ‘foreign’ as their brewery is in my hometown and remember going there on a school trip....a few years ago lol. Throwing beer away,that’s bad!!

Thanks mate. Tbh most of my shares are really boring funds,trusts and increasingly reits which I’m tucking away for future divs but have a dabble here abd there and sometimes they come off! MARS, high debt like most in that sector and where we are currently I'm not sure whether ever going for a pint at the pub or hopping on a cruise ship is the furthest away but like to have a few recovery options and the brewing aspect of the new tie up must be a good thing as we’re still drinking the stuff!!!
AA,just felt like it had some momentum about it like a few other big household names,win some lose some,keeps our interest!

Tinkered around the edges recently and kicking myself for not averaging down on marstons before lunch yesterday lol!!

Public transport,what’s that?!! Even Boris is advising against it lol.
Tough times ahead for sure mate,hard to believe where we are in just a few months because of a Chinese virus,when you think of all the advances with the Internet,tech stuff,so much innovation and yet we get knocked for six by this invisible enemy.
Negative or realistic but still think we will just adapt to where we need to be and as ever winners and losers will prevail!!!

Maybe I can travel up there with my chainsaw now and get some logs then mate! Sounds like it’s back to normal traffic when I pop up to work up at the land then!
Looking forward to seeing those moving prices again,hopefully heading north not south.
Sectors to watch are hospitality and travel for bargains maybe? I’ve got a handful of most stuff now but looking to tweak here and there for potential survival and future divs.
Property a bit of a wild card at the moment(resi) as half are saying it’ll drop massively like commercial has and the valuers(for lenders) will be overly cautious in a tough environment as comparables are out of date,the other half reckon pent up demand will create a buzz or activity and dodge the big drop on activity levels????

I’m glad I’m not the only one mate,never bought anything online myself and if I needed some part or whatever and it was the only option I’d get someone else to do it for me and give them the cash!
There’s certainly plenty of economic gloom and doom ahead for sure but the worst thing is losing someone you know to this dreadful disease which is going to create not only grief for loss but anger for how it happened and where it came from and however positive we are there will be resentment for a generation. Interesting how many references there are to ‘the war’ all of a sudden because I guess that was the last time we had so many die.
Anyway on that cheery note I’m going to pour myself a rum and head for the hills.
Shares,they’ll do what they do mate but I have to say I still get a buzz out of it and it never fails to hold my interest.

Just had a look at borders,got them and rockhopper and a few others but diversity in sectors and companies in those sectors is how I handle it I guess mate,plus I try not to worry about stuff I can’t influence.
Not sure what the big trades were all about on borders today but the spread is unreal!

Thanks for the link there mate, a real bear case in divs for sure! I’m still getting a few through here and there as I’m loaded up on trusts with reserves but the tide has turned of late a bit like the pundits going on about no one using cheques and now cash being conveniently demonised so everyone ends up using traceable payments! Net result my dlar are right down there but I have to say I always pay by cheque and cash wherever I can and have never done internet banking because I don’t trust it.....I am happy to be a dinosaur lol.
As far as buying for the divs I’ve kind of switched to buying for future divs and I guess if future divs don’t materialise then I’ll just adapt....and moan a lot more!!

Had Astra years ago when they were 25 quid so can’t bring myself to return at current levels!!

I’ve got rio in the blackrock funds already but hold a load of glencore separately(at a huge loss!).

I’ve got such a mixed bag of holdings these days that I’m bound to get a few divs flowing through but annoying shell has dropped theirs,just hoping the tobaccos maintain as that’s my biggest single Income one now.

After the experience of buying national express at 80p,selling at mid nineties and then watching them go over two quid I’m scared to sell anything these days!
Just bought some more saatchi and kier and scratching my head that I might actually be showing a small profit on fastjet but that’s probably the spread lol

The fact the SP is up slightly means the market is positive and anything to bridge the gap between SP and nav is most welcome although in many ways I was hoping for recovery and restoration of a monthly dividend,either way if the SP goes back up who cares!

It’s not just me then!! I see shell has slashed the divvy,that’ll upset the pension funds etc,mind you at least they did it themselves rather being ordered to by the government!

Just looked through the rns and it’s just a load of management speak from what I can see mate! I’m resigned to not receiving divs on so many in the short term so I guess as and when it’ll be a bonus!

If only we’d sold everything in January and bought it all back mid-March!! Yes a cracking bounce off the lows but don’t know about you,there was so much going on and so many opportunities at that low point that my watchlists and trigger points were in overload and by the time I’d chucked everything in,there were even more bargains particularly in the boring funds that I like. Took a few losses too so I could load up as took the view that I was going to lose money this year(again lol) but make it back at some point in the future and more but.....time will tell!!
I reckon with so little background noise we notice the birds more maybe.
Spiced rum eh,just had a hearty dollop of some Appleton signature blend in my tea as it happens. Stocked up on a load of it like Red Leg,Mountgay and some others with pirate names and some from the kraut supermarket too a couple of months ago when it looked like bunker time but never expected it to be bunker time plus stay at home aaaarghhhhh!

Sorry just back tracking on the yank ones, I thought they were heading towards a main market listing (although that may have gone a bit quiet with the commodity price crashes!)? If so presumably the tax issue won’t apply going forwards?
