Thought of you today Troj when I finally got out of those wres things at a small profit! Hope you did okay on them. That’s the problem when you sit on a perpetual loss that the overriding urge is to get your money back and no thought as to what caused the rise and whether it’ll go higher lol.

The way I see it, we all as holders need to be disciplined in our reason for buying in the first place as it’s our hard earned at stake....no one else’s!
In other words is it growth,income, opportunism on what looked like a ‘good’ price and go with the flow from there or a bit of everything.
I bought for the c.8% yield and whether the SP fluctuates 10 or so percent throughout the year, my investment and average gives me 8% return on the money invested and the chances are I’ll hold tight as part of a balanced income p/f because 8% is hard to replace elsewhere.
If I think they’re ‘too high’ I’ll probably sell and below 25 I’ll be scraping around to add.
I also hold Imb but have never had the dilemma of selling into a profit.
The benefit of quarterly yielders is that the inevitable drop is more cushioned than final and interims biannually and a few of mine yield monthly so hardly notice.

Read the article today, interesting counter argument to the usual tobacco-bashing sentiment.
Also note their foray into Canadian cannabis announced earlier today. I guess it’s a good fit for diversification should that ever become a mainstream consumable and it’ll be interesting to see what reaction if any it has on our current depressed share price!

Still think the best protection is being a hermit mind you!! I guess there’s a lot of changes in working practices on the horizon but trying to maintain a diversity throughout the p/f keeps the divs flowing.

There’s been a good bounce on a few things of late, who knows some time in the near future share prices might be influenced by healthy balance sheets and yield rather than chances of survival?!!

Market seems to have settled a bit of late and glad to see divs back on the menu in a lot of things.

I’ve got a tv with a video slot in it still, chunky bit of kit compared to the iPhone though lol.

Fair enough, you could grow stuff in pots or old bins, mind you it can be a labour of love when you think you can buy a sack of spuds in the supermarket for a quid or so!! I’ve always thought it strange that we export food and then import it when we can grow most stuff ourselves.... the Victorians used to have their pineapple houses and grew all manner of stuff under glass....I’ve just put up some small polytunnels and am going to do a ‘hotbed’ in one of them with some of my neighbours horsemuck( 4 pallets strapped together) it’ll stink but it’ll also warm things up a bit lol

I will when it gets offered mate but the best cure is to avoid getting it in the first place if you ask me, we’re becoming a nation of people-avoiding hermits!

No I had the flu jab not the Covid one. ‘Bloke I know’ reckons it’s a good second to the Covid one,builds up immunity apparently. Never bothered before, 56 now so one has to look out for these things....still reckon a tot of something in my last cup of tea at night is a good cure all though!!

Evening all. Had a flu jab yesterday but no sign of a Covid one for my 87 year old mother.....in the system apparently....mind you she’s been ‘locked in the house’ since we moved and we only go to shops or to the land and talk to neighbours over a big hedge!

I heard it costs them less than ten dollars to get it out the ground?
Strange how prissy the bureaucracy is about competition and price fixing yet kowtowing to OPEC etc is never mentioned...call me a cynic but..!
