Plenty exiting talk this morning on offers / hostile bids etc. Exiting yes but let’s keep feet firmly on the ground until we get confirmation on how big this actually is. Any potential suitors will need that information before they make any real move.

Will be happy to see this settle at least 1.90 by close tomorrow as indicate a new level between news. Definitely not time to be trADING GGP weekend or weekday makes no difference.

Don’t expect this to breach 2 today, there is no real volume and they will start the drop back before close tomorrow to claw back some of the trader shares IMO

MM s have to contend with day traders they do not want those 4m buys to be sold back later in day if they take it up on no more news

No problem Antigua. I know they do play their games when a big order is about but they play them against each other just as much. That’s why there can be extreme movements either way just like SXX yesterday when it crashed, MM s dropping their bids against each other.
Unlikely to happen with GGP as we have so many shares in issue but have seen Company share prices explode when there is big demand for shares that are scarce. MM s borrowing to meet demand and lenders drying up.

I am correct Antigua, apart from it being impossible for anyone to have bought Unsold stock ie if it’s not sold ?? Market Makers are obliged to always give a 2 way quote once registered to be a MM In a specific share. They cannot refuse a trade in the size and prices they quote on systems. The only way they would avoid taking on stock when a stock SP is crashing is to make sure their bid is lower than the other market makers. Reverse all that when investors are falling over each other to buy a stake in a company. Hopefully we will see this one day soon in GGP

Spades, need to correct you. There does not need to be a buyer for every seller in the context of PI or institutional investors.
The purpose of the MM s is to maintain a market in a stock. Who do you think is the buyer when a stock crashes and investors are offloading with no buyers around. Answer is the MM s . They ultimately carry the risk and it’s a big big factor in their pricing.

JD there is always a handful of trades that get mis- reported but not to that extent and just as much as sells reported as buys for that matter so more or less cancel each other out.

Classic behaviour. MMs buy 41m sold 18m now taking Sp back pre lunch to give the day traders a choice to sell out with modest profit Some will. Chances the SP then is taken up again this afternoon. They are not collecting shares for no reason.

I like it. Better volume and in background of sales double that of buys the SP is pushing the next benchmark. Could just be a large buy order but even that is a modest positive sign however more likely the city boys know a little more than us at the moment ....and it’s good

I posted when the large holding made mostly of CFD Swaps etc may be a play. Similar to the massive. Number of same Goldman’s had on ITV shares. That was about 50% down within months as well. Cannot believe that was nothing else other than some sort of shorting play as these guys never get it that much wrong if being a true investment - actual holding.

We are truly on a journey here and this is just another sign of the potential. A few more positive steps and every investor to date will have the comfort of knowing their initial investment is locked in and the only decision to make is when to exit with profit , hold for more etc. That day i feel is getting very close GLA and chill

What you see are the institutional NOMINEE names which hold the PI s holdings such as yours mine and about every other poster on this board. Some perhaps hold through their own local broker. The other 30pc is made up of a few more like directors as reported in not in public hands but the majority it is the missing unreported holdings as they are the market maker positions. They are the largest institution holders until the real market takes them.

Yes I can see the Institutional investors piling in tomorrow in all the potential of this potential and potentially piling into Newcrest Lol

MMs are managing their risk as dictated by their own Risk Management teams. Signs are good for GGP but we are still in the exploration stages across ALL projects. If NC were not to progress, yes the price would plummet and the MMs would be left with massive positions. That’s on top of the tens of millions they already hold. They barley eek out a living between news on the daily volumes we see.

The only thing that you can expect on news on other projects is the news is likely to be delayed . The longer the delay the better in my opinion as NC will be checking over results and the better they are then longer the delay for obvious reasons. Chill

Possibly but not the way your suggesting, more likely I think if it gets to that stage or better NC will have bought out at very least GGP percentage at a discount but enough to secure GGP for some years
