Slightly off the point today but, as I am a Geordie, I go to their AGM. You come away feeling genuinely welcomed and valued. They really are an amazing business. Also, when they return cash it is as a special dividend, not these wretched buybacks beloved by many companies and the City folk who rake in commissions on every tranche.

At last, we are making use of the best brand. Let's hope the back room people do a good job. I am sick of the CEO's jargon. He talks a lot but let's see some increased profits. PPI legacy will be the next excuse for poir performance.
