Just tried to renew my annual travel policy with Aviva. Last year the cost was increased by around 38%, this year it's been hiked by another 38% !!! Apparently something to do with Brexit!
All of my policies are with Aviva and have been for over 30 years. There is a limit to how much you can be loyal to any company. The worry for me now is customers with multiple policies will start to shop around. Looks like Aviva don't want travel insurance business. Fine but for me very short term gain for Aviva.

Hi Nuri. You have to ask yourself why the share price is where it is. Even based on the last 12 months it's been poor compared to its peers.
I'm hoping that being Aviva old school Maurice Tulloch will be fully aware of where the issues are. One other consideration is the "French" issue with the Investment policies sold some years back. That seems be be smoldering on in the background without resolution. AIMO.

If you read my email Nuri , I hold significant vamounts in BOTH. Share price and dividend growth will only come from profits. Look at the last two BPA schemes LG won ( which you can guarantee Aviva were one of the bidders for)
You need to look deeper into the reason LG seem to be better placed to offer a more ( competitive ?) bid.
Incidentally an article today suggested LG are spending £15 billion on student and other accomodation in Oxford.
I still fully believe in both companies but happen to think Aviva will take some turning around. During his tenure Mark Wilson disposed if a significant number of buildings and staff , they are one off savings. I don't think the turnaround
Will be a quick job. Based on my average the Aviva share price car from worries me in the near future provided the dividend remains somewhere bear current levels. AIMO if course.

Just read the RNS. Is it not feasible the cash from the equity raise has not become again I time to complete the transaction today? If so the renegotiation nay just be for a bit morectineand small amount of extra cash to compensate?

Me too AllAtSea. Unfortunately to date though Aviva don't seem to be winning the big schemes like LG are. The issue with AV is still the management. Maurice Tulloch is old Aviva and will as has been alluded to ,move back towards the old Aviva model.This costs money therefore I cannot see much of an uplift other than following the market when and if Brexit is sorted. With a very low average share price in AV I'm happy with my return through Divis so don't worry too much about the share price.

Nuri I hold both. Perhaps it's because L and G have been far more successful in their Bulk Purchase Annuity deals than Aviva.

Not sure if they are in Smets 2 or not, never say never. One thing is for certain though if the UK have gone for any solution based on cost alone they are in my view taking a chance. The old saying pay cheap, pay twice springs to mind. AIMO of course.

I seem to recall they have delivered mesh networks in the US. Not sure where I saw it or if it came from a conversation with someone when I was over there.

Morning Tony. Could you tell me who are Trident? I mentioned Trilliant as an example once maybe twice, not sure that supports your argument.

I read that as Trident being the company involved in Smets 1 was responsible for the disaster.

A company called Trilliant is one of many that provide and have provided mesh networks successfully. I believe I posted a link some time back. Just Google Trilliant network mesh, I'm sure there will be something there.
Smets 1 meters are and can be monitored, I had one installed about 18 months ago and it works fine. I think we can therefore park the Smets 1 issue.
The best bit of all was suggesting I was as "mad"as yourself! I think you won that competition some time back so happy for you to pick up the trophy LOL .Have a great weekend all.

Once again Tony you cleverly respond to cover what suits. Smets 1 meters are communicating and there are others including Trilliant who provide mesh networks,many in fact. Could you confirm where you got the information from that Trilliant were solely to blame for the Smets 1 problems?

Judging by my customer experience over the last two visits not far!! Need to learn fast that customer is king and there are many other retailers.

Morning Colour. I suggested many months back there were more providers of mesh network and, j think named a few. As usual many believed this was incorrect and CC was the only solution.
Regarding the old wire round the cable theory. If there are connections hard wired which there will be at some point they can be bypassed. Best the supplier can hope for is a comparison against historical consumption and live consumption. AIMO of course.
