The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
I disagree. I think there is wisdom in c26 previous posts. He/she has correctly predicted some of the SP movements over the last month. I found a post where they suggested they had set buy limits at 2050, 2075 and 2100.
While the posts are predominantly pessimistic, they add balance to the overall bb.
I genuinely just want to know your current position. In the past you've stated when you'd top up. You are significantly better read than I am.
It would just be useful when you post new negative information like you have today that you also post your summary.
Of course it makes all the difference. If you have posted your position previously then please forgive me. I am unable to find it and I have genuinely forgotten it.
But it really does make a difference. You can post facts on both sides of the argument. Facts that support AM as a growing business. Facts that support AM as being overinflated currently.
Your facts would take on a lot more credibility if I understood your position. If I knew your argument was a balanced one. You only post facts without drawing any conclusions.
I really am genuinely interested to hear your conclusion
Haha anyone can give financial advice... Or am I going to get locked up for giving advice to family and friends? Only financial advisors can charge for financial advice.
But that aside...
You could still state your position. Which is the one thing you never do. Which unfortunately means that you could be the most informed person here, post all the facts you like... But people like me are going to find it hard to trust you.
If you genuinely want to help us (me) then help me to understand why you are still on this bb
So what is your opinion c26? What's your prediction for the share price at the end of 2021?end of 2022? End of 2023?
Should we be selling now?
Do you currently have shares? What's your buy target? When are you going to top up/buy back in?
For people like myself it's important to understand the position of the people posting. So I can mentally assign a level of credibility to the information I'm receiving.
I take the optimism with a pinch of salt. I take the pessimism with a pinch of salt. If you are truly trying to warn us about AMs inflated position could you please lay out your own position in all this so I can trust you.
P. S it hurts my feelings when you respond to others posts but not me
C2645sg - given what you've posted, what is your opinion?
Is the SP too high? Should we sell and buy back in later down the line? What are you doing with your holding?
If you have sold your holding then what causes your continued dedication to educating this bb? If you have no horse in the race then why keep coming back? It can't be out of the goodness of your heart?
Genuinely interested
If it's just good old fashioned trolling then it's just a bit boring.
I've got a stocks and share isa. Can't put any more money in until the new financial year.... Torn between wanting the stock to go up before then and making money on what I already have invested... And the price staying low so I can put more money in

For anyone who still has doubts that entering formula 1 is valuable... Good to have a considerable head start on them

Just in case there is still anyone questioning the value of being in F1. Great to have a considerable head start on them
Seb is the only normal human being in the presentation! The rest are talking like robots!
Great work though. Tom Brady for the American fans. Daniel Craig for the bond fans around the world
Bring it on
I confess to having spent zero time even attempting to look and understand the graphs. I probably should give the money I'm investing but time doesn't allow. I do read with interest on this bb people who post what they've found from their graphs.
Intro over
I struggle to believe it will fall anywhere near as low as 15. Perhaps it's my bias against that eventuality because of my shares. But 15 would be a decent chunk lower than the previous dip. It would make a mockery of the recent SP rise to 22. On little to no change other than widely accepted neutral end of year figures... I'm hard pressed to find a reason why AM would lose a 1/3 of its entire value in the space of a week. I understand there are fluctuations but 15 would be a crater!
Perhaps the waves move in mysterious ways and a bigger fall precedes a bigger climb. I guess I'll learn more the longer I'm on the boat

Here comes the marketing boost

I'm not sure what to make of this article. Given me the heeby jeebies a little bit. Surprised there are still analysts that bullish on AM. Would appreciate people's thoughts on it
I only heard about Aston at the end of December. The start of this year is the first time I've invested in the stock market. I'm an F1 fan and I did my research before investing (including scouring this bb - thanks to all of you!)
There are lots of reasons to invest but my main one is belief in those in leadership positions and other key investors who've put their own money in. If its good enough for Mercedes and toto it's good enough for me.
I sold my shares in easyjet at the end of play today and put it all into aston. Even if tomorrow isn't what we hope for I'll be happy to keep for the long term. Has dragged my average up to £19! Not as impressive as the majority of you but I'm happy with it.
I'm surprised of talk of the SP dropping significantly below £20. I personally don't buy it. We're less than a month on from an admittedly gossip driven potential buy out which undervalued the shares according to stroll who was having none of it.
Stroll values the company
Mercedes value the company
.... And even if its *******s... It wouldn't be surprising if others were interested too.
For this reason I don't think there is the downside on the SP that there used to be
Hopefully I'm not chatting **** ??
Perhaps you are a genuine share holder with lots invested in AML like everyone else on this bb (I'm happy to take you on your word).
Everyone does their own research and does what they need to do to make them feel comfortable in their investment. I scour the Internet for news everyday and read every article. I read every scrap of conversation on this bb in case anyone has found something I've missed.
Some people who are worried about something are purposefully negative about something when discussing with others because they are desperately seeking reassurance. You put forward the negative argument and hope someone can convince you that you're wrong... In doing so you feel better about you investment. I get it. People do it with all kinds of things in their lives. Girlfriend's saying they look terrible and wanting their boyfriends to argue back all the ways look great.
A genuine piece of advice for this bb. Take it or leave it I'm not overly bothered. Just try and tone down the negativity a little bit. No one would want to censor negative content from this chat. It's just as useful to all us investors as the positive content. Your facts are mostly facts that aren't contested as to their validity.
The problem arises when you keep coming back with the same content over and over again. The majority of active people on this bb have given you their opinion. They've tried to explain why they are still positive about AML despite the cash burn etc etc. It doesn't mean I condone all the behaviour on here. Just from a neutrals perspective I can see their frustration.
If you're still feeling negative about AML and what people are writing on here isn't making you feel better about your investment then I think it's probably at least worth considering selling your shares. It's down to you in the end as it is with all of us individually. It's highly unlikely anyone in a bb like this is going to come back to you with the perfect, detailed response that completely allays your fears.
So once more I plead. If you have new negative content please post and share and we can discuss. If its the same old concerns then please can we leave it until their is a material change in circumstances. Otherwise it just makes it harder reading through the whole bb to find the good stuff!
I think he means doubling your money each time... E. G
2k in company A becomes 4k
Put the 4k in to company B and it becomes 8k
Put the 8k in to company C and it becomes 16k
.....and so on
If every company you invest in doubles your money then you theoretically get to a million pretty quick.
Doesn't allow for the fact that doubling your money is pretty difficult and certainly isn't a 100% success rate
"We will enjoy tariff-free trade on 95% of our goods like Johnnie Walker whisky and Aston Martin cars, better market access for services, and modern rules for digital innovators like Revolut."
The above was in an article in the express. If sales are taking off in Asia... This could help them along further
Thanks both. Was 99% sure that was the case but his target seemed far too low for today's money but astronomically high for old money... I guess to be taken with a pinch of Salt. Still a great article
Some people on this forum will state a SP of 1700p and then in brackets (85p old money)....
How is this calculated? I'm sorry if its a really dumb question but I can't find the answer anywhere using Google!
Someone posted an article where stroll forecasted where he thought the share price would reach £6-9 which I'm assuming he's using "old money".
Any help would be greatly appreciated
