Blencowe Resources: Aspiring to become one of the largest graphite producers in the world. Watch the video here.
He will stay on till the end of June till a replacement is found...
Sounds amicable to me. I'm personally happy to take it on face value that he is genuinely leaving for "personal reasons"
Lovely, steady gains today. Really enjoying the slow rise since results... Feels much more stable. Dare we dream to have seen the back of adeem?
I think £24m is a fair price to pay for the advertising we are getting. I agree with lots of things in the article. When I was explaining our results to my mate I said it was probably a 5/10. There have certainly been bumps in the road and so far we are doing no better than just about riding them.
But the longer we're stable the more ready we are to make progress. I don't believe there has been enough time to see the fruits of the new management. We are still only months in to astons first season back in F1. All the cars being sold currently are from the old management.
I think you take a much shorter term view than myself. This guess is backed up by the fact you buy and sell your shares all the time. You're trying to buy the peaks and troughs and predict the share price movements from month to month.
So you'll scream bloody murder at the top of your lungs when you think there is news that correlates with the SP dipping 5% over the next few weeks. Then I'll say that may be true but I don't believe that affects the long term outlook which I still believe to be positive. Then you'll say show me figures and will discredit my opinion as you always do.
I am. Think its value for money
Another delightfully unbalanced piece from the Karen of all Karens. Raises some good points but would have more credibility if it wasn't so incredibly partisan
His long term target is to make Aston the British ferrari. Build the brand all over the world. Brand brand brand.
Ferrari market cap 30bn
Aston current Market cap 2bn
To achieve strolls SP "target" of £100 we'd need to improve the value of the company by x5.
So Aston Martin target market cap of 10bn
I don't know what that means in terms of sales and profit etc... But do I think long term Aston could be made to be only 1/3 the size of ferrari....?
Absolutely
Brand brand brand
F1 results are not linked to the share price. Especially not short term. A podium finish won't increase the SP.
Being in F1 does affect the SP. It increases the brand. Which undoubtedly will lead to more sales. It also increases engineering capacity which the road cars will benefit from.
Stroll specializes in improving brands to improve sales. He doesn't specialise in improving the product... That's moers job
Lots of back to back marketing on the world stage. Hopefully it boosts sales further!
Someone posted something vague... I must hold them accountable! Grumble grumble grumble
Just let it go.
2 drivers of the day in a row
I'd say you've probably underestimated.
£10m = 40% saving
That would mean we've reduced total cost from £25m to £15m.
Surely our total cost was significantly higher than £25m a year... He'll have made savings in procurement, logistics, staffing etc etc.
I think the savings will be more than you've stated. HOWEVER I don't believe they will be anywhere near comparable with the size of the debt repayments... Which was the original convo
Personally I've been waiting for the big sells of (supposedly) Adeem to take us back to 1900s. Will be content if we settle at this price for awhile and consolidate. We can then kick on next time there is some good news
That's a nice problem to have after weeks of looking likely to fall through 1800
I fear it COULD be correct. I accept its a possibility.
I'm just holding you to the same level of accountability as you do to others.
1. You made a claim
2. You can't prove it
It's EXACTLY what you do to others on here who post positive opinions without evidence.
Russell's teapot is an analogy, formulated by the philosopher Bertrand Russell (1872–1970), to illustrate that the philosophic burden of proof lies upon a person making unfalsifiable claims, rather than shifting the burden of disproof to others.
Russell specifically applied his analogy in the context of religion.[1] He wrote that if he were to assert, without offering proof, that a teapot, too small to be seen by telescopes, orbits the Sun somewhere in space between the Earth and Mars, he could not expect anyone to believe him solely because his assertion could not be proven wrong.
If that's what they were annoyed about then how come that's not what is being reported? C2645sg you like things to remain factual. Provide evidence the loan is from "stroll and his chums".... If you can't then accept its your opinion.
I'm not saying it's wrong. I fear it could be correct. But don't state it like it's a fact
And driver of the day. Aston Martin got lots of mentions by commentators due to strategy
Feels like the kind of thing customers would love to try out. Don't think it would necessarily increase sales but it would enhance customer experience. I'm sure they'd enjoy telling the story to friends/colleagues
Bit gimmicky but super cool IMO

"it doesn't really matter what the prospectus says"
That's very unlike you... And it's only true if your assumptions are correct about where the money has come from. If your assumptions are wrong then the prospectus and whether it reveals the possibility to refinance the debt is IMO one of the most important factors of aston Martins mid term outlook
I'll say thanks too. As carpy said, it is what it is. I think we have to assume they negotiated the best possible deal they could and made the best decision for Aston Martin at the time. If they were unable to get a deal with restructuring it later as an option then so be it.
The thought of them purposefully signing up to a bad rate bond for a fixed term to line the pockets of their friends.... Well its a nasty thought. One that is too negative for me to comprehend. It would make me worry about my investment too much so I'm choosing to assume its not a possibility. Naive or not
