RE: Calculating the intrinsic value31 Oct 2021 00:14
Just look at last set of results.
Half year At period end 30 June 21
£66m net cash
£3.2b total assets
£1.5b liabilities (£1b in tax, borrowings, lease liabilities, half a bil in trade payables.
Assume £1.7b net assets (no net asset line on results)
That’s £1.24 a share.
A billion quid of the liabilities is long term lease and borrowings, so add that back while that cash is kept in THGs pocket and it’s ~£2 a share.
Add any speculative value or increase in performance / asset value since and you are at £2.30-10 depending on what broker sold you the shares.
It says at the end “Total equity and liabilities £3,282,625” but £3,282,625 is also the figure for total assets, which is the figure before liabilities are taken, £1,492,746 so by my understanding that is wrong. - but I could be wrong …
