In line with this post, would it be correct to assume that RMG did in fact make a "group profit" of £758M, as suggested by Dave Ward? Profit that could have been used to facilitate a pay rise in line with inflation? Thereby keeping the majority of posties happy.
Would it be correct to assume then, that any profits generated by Royal Mail, up to this point, may have been used to get GLS "up and running" as a profitable business? Late nineties until this year?

Royal Mail bought GLS in 1998?
They own it. And any monies generated.
I had never heard of "no cross-subsidy" until your leader, Thompson, appeared on the scene.

Royal Mail Group adjusted operating profits were £758M. I assume that GLS were still under the same umbrella then.
Can you tell me when the cross-subsidy ended? I can't seem to find that information anywhere. It clearly wasn't in the late nineties when RM bought GLS.

Where did the money come from for the uplift in status and pay for line managers?
From May this year to April 2024. 38K to 49K per year, not including annual rises.
Where did the money come from for all the bonuses, not least Thompsons, come from?
And what about the 11 concessions your great leader keeps banging on about?
Where did the money come from, for these?
Of course, RM have no money. Until it suits them!

So, you strike 2 weeks after a ballot result for let's say 1 day. There are then discussions which last let's say 3 months. No progress so more strike days 2 weeks later.

How difficult is this to understand?
I have willingly returned to work, as per IA stipulations, according to gov.uk.
IMO, this means continuous.
No doubt we'll find out soon enough who's right or wrong.

Unite the Union does not recognise or agree with the recently circulated joint statement in any way. It has been wrongly interpreted as a negotiated agreement between the union and the company.
That has generated further misinformation and led to incidents against our members.
Unite the Union wishes to make it abundantly clear that:
1. The Union does not recognise or agree with the statement circulated by management.
2. There is no Agreement (and none will be signed in the future) regarding paying bonuses to UNITE members to make any employees redundant.
3.Unite will not be issuing any further Joint Communications with the employer during the period
of the trade dispute with the CWU.
4. We condemn those who make inaccurate and inflammatory statements on social media and where they can be identified we will denounce them. We will not accept harassment of our Members.
5. Unite believes in unions working together and showing respect but we expect that to be shown to our own members too.
Unite is on record as advising our members of the fact, that at no stage can they be compelled to operate beyond performing their contractual duties and to seek union guidance on any situation a member is not clear about. As in fact the CWU did when the CMA members were preparing for strike action.
As CMA negotiations unfold Unite will support our members taking strike action to deal with those
issues as they arise.

But i haven't been on strike for 12 weeks. I have now been on strike for 2 days.
I guess you can read it either way, whatever suits your agenda.
So, let's see if RM have the balls. I don't think they've threatened to sack everyone taking part in IA.
And for what it's worth, historical documentation states continuous, and an uplift from 8 to 12 weeks.
