An actual 17% saving. Is that correct?

And why wouldn't the cost of agency staff concern you?
Do you know that their pay has been reduced from about 20 quid an hour, to about 14 quid an hour?
The reason is? The drop in parcel numbers.
Now, if these agency staff work 4,5,6 hours, they will still get paid for 8 hours. And this happened before their pay was reduced.
Isn't this what IDS want to get away from?

What you fail to realise that the inevitable reduction in staff, should this happen, has already happened.
Yes, you will get overtime savings. But not on the scale you think

Maybe you should focus your ire on why IDS are still employing agency staff?
Maybe you should ask why IDS are paying agency staff for 8 hours work, when they only work 6?
Maybe you should ask, why 3 weeks after the name change announcement, and no cross subsidy statement, IDS employed thousands of agency staff, before we had even been on strike?
How much is this costing IDS?

The USO will be alive and kicking even if it was to be changed.
The government have shored up a 6 days a week USO, and that's where we are at the moment
OFCOM will fine IDS.
When it is eventually reduced to a 5 day service, it will still exist.
Much to the dismay of many.

And regarding the valuation of GLS, and it's relevance to market cap?

If GLS, as a stand alone business, is worth more than the market cap of IDS, the parent company, every man and their dog would be all over this.

Thousands of jobs have already been lost. But will the USO still be in play, post renationalisation?
I think it will, and it will be funded by the tax payer, and GLS.
