Group profits! I notice that you weren't banging the GLS drum 2 years ago. And nor was anyone else. It's only been since Sir Simon Thompson started mentioning no cross subsidy. But still 500 million + given back to shareholders and buybacks. So, how much came out of RM's ever dwindling coffers? I could do the maths for you, but i won't.

500-600 million loss?
I think it will be more. But I'll wait until IDS release a statement to that effect.
If you're going to listen to analysts, how come you're still holding?

Has IDS issued a statement to this effect? If they did, I'd assume it wouldn't be good. Especially for shareholders. But they do have 1.7 billion on hand, just in case. Maybe they could give you some of that, in the way of dividends.
758 million pound adjusted operating profit 2021/2022. 500 million + given to shareholders / buybacks.

And you need to read my reasons for striking regarding pay. I have posted them. But if it makes you happy, then yes, i'm striking because i want a 10% pay increase backdated to April 2022.

That depends on who you value to protect your investment? The people who do the real work, or the people that pay themselves very very well in salary and in bonuses, for failure.

I didn't say very precarious position. Please do not put spin on my posts to suit your agenda.
I never said the company was rolling in it or their statements were fictitious. They made 750 million profit, and gave it away. Despite knowing that one one the most lucrative contracts was coming to an end. All of a sudden they are losing money, hand over fist.

I was never striking for a pay rise. I was striking because of the imposition (executive action) of a measly 2% when all the profits from the previous year had been given away.

The BOD may well have anticipated a huge turn out for VR.
But the fact that weeks, maybe months, had lapsed before the actual "NO CR" statement, did not reassure any blue collar worker fearing for their job.
I always said there would be no CR, despite the obvious glee that i may be forced out of my job, by some on this board.
A lot of my workmates didn't feel the same way. Well, they now have reassurance.
So we won. Sundays? We won.
And I agree that post Xmas, a huge bargaining tool has disappeared for the CWU.
But as i keep saying, goodwill will be all but gone, when RM start implementing their vision for the future.
Can you believe that in the current climate, some staff are coming in about an hour earlier than they should?
To coin a popular phrase from one of our more intellectual posters, these people are TAF.
When these posties finally realise RM will fully utilise all paid hours, then they will adjust what time they actually come in, and what they actually do.
The only way RM will get to where they want to be is for the USO to be removed.

If you want to dress it up like that, that's fine.
The staff that were sitting with CR apparently hanging over their heads, didn't see it like that. So, in my book and theirs, it was a win for RM to state no CR.
And judging by some of the comical posts on here, CR was a given. Some may have believed that nonsense.

There is a difference between compulsory and voluntary redundancy. I'm sure that you understand the difference.
If you don't think it's a win, maybe you should have spoken to some of the people that I work with. They were terrified, despite my assertions that there would be no CR.
You see, some people didn't want redundancy. It's a win for them.

The share price will drop either leading up to or after results. IMO.
So, I may actually invest after that.

I haven't seen any figures which include the Xmas period. The last set of figures were released in November.

Even the most simple person can make a low average when their money isn't involved.
Why didn't you start with a 5K buy and average down?
I think i know the answer, so no need to reply to that.

As for my 12K investment, i don't have one. I've got 12K waiting to be invested in IDS. It's what i call my Royal Mail fund, and is made up of mainly profit. That includes the freebies, of course. I have added out of my own overtime payments though. I'll let you know when / if I invest. I'd hate to be called a liar.

On a serious note though. I cannot wait for the 9 month update. I thought it was in February, but I think Anger posted that it was late January 2022. Including Christmas figures, this cannot be good.
Of course, I can only go by what I see, volume wise, in my office.
I know that upsets one or two here, but I'd hate to mislead anyone.

Good news though.
I'm thinking about putting my "hard earned" (LOLOL) in soon. 12 grand sitting there, waiting.
I thought the price would've been a lot lower after the IA.
So, I'll wait for the the 9 month update.

You couldn't be more wrong. The only way they will "work", if you can call it that, is by daily failing and management managing these daily failures.
It ain't happening, but RM want to increase workloads by 30% ish per shared van duty.
Not only are you taking away sorters and peppers, because you won't have the bodies, actual prep on your own duty will take longer.
Factor in that these increased workloads will only go onto one duty out of two, so when one cannot be covered, which one will that be?
A very ill-thought process.
But i welcome it.

I haven't heard about the SA being cancelled. I thought it would have been the last thing to go.
And regarding new duty structures. These have to be in place by end of June 2023. I'm not exactly sure who is tasked with this. While it is not anything like a full revision, it is certainly not a 5 minute job. I was shown the expectations and how "it should" pan out. This will be interesting.

If we couldn't get what we wanted over Christmas, it will only strengthen the company's resolve.
However, if you think that failing duties, or part failing, because of these new duty structures is the way forward, you are sadly mistaken.

You do realise that the CWU is not responsible for the USO. So, why do you keep banging that drum.
If the USO gets amended, then workload will move accordingly.
So, it doesn't matter how many times babies like yourself cry about it, RM is obliged to provide this service. It's not my fault or the CWU.
I think it's being reviewed again on the 12th.
