The BOD may well have anticipated a huge turn out for VR.
But the fact that weeks, maybe months, had lapsed before the actual "NO CR" statement, did not reassure any blue collar worker fearing for their job.
I always said there would be no CR, despite the obvious glee that i may be forced out of my job, by some on this board.
A lot of my workmates didn't feel the same way. Well, they now have reassurance.
So we won. Sundays? We won.
And I agree that post Xmas, a huge bargaining tool has disappeared for the CWU.
But as i keep saying, goodwill will be all but gone, when RM start implementing their vision for the future.
Can you believe that in the current climate, some staff are coming in about an hour earlier than they should?
To coin a popular phrase from one of our more intellectual posters, these people are TAF.
When these posties finally realise RM will fully utilise all paid hours, then they will adjust what time they actually come in, and what they actually do.
The only way RM will get to where they want to be is for the USO to be removed.
