When i first started we would be out delivering by 7am. In winter it was dark, obviously. It didn't matter if you knew the duty or not. You would still trip, stumble and not see things. And despite streetlighting and your torch, it still slowed you down. You were however, working into daylight. Not the other way around.
Bear in mind that we walk down every street and plenty of garden paths.
You delivering specials/tracked only, is not the same.

If parcels are the way forward, then surely it would be parcel led, with the change of times focussed simply on parcels.
RMG really do not care about the untracked market. So, you take away the tracked items. This includes the LAT's that dynamo mentioned. And create parcel duties in the afternoon. The letters and untracked items could go out earlier in the day, the following.
Of course, with RMG's green policy, and these items coming in later in the day, the CEO can simply explain to the public why all these items are being delivered 1 day late. It's happening now anyway.
You could even use the same vehicles.

I've delivered in the dark when we had earlier starts. Not something to be recommended, but as you went on, it became lighter. This nonsense about knowing your rounds, houses being marked up, using torches, doesn't work. I've been there.
And it was only a month ago that ST, aye, was saying that the majority of delivery offices couldn't handle the growth in large parcels. But now we can if we start later!!!
And as for capturing all the mail that needs to be delivered? I hope he looks at the failures on hand in my office. It aint happening.

Sunday working: Yes, i get it. People want their stuff delivered 7 days a week. Th e ludicrous thing is that RMG have said if you work Sundays it will facilitate more Saturdays off.

I would suggest that more people are in on Saturday. The majority visit family on Sunday.

How do i pick up my grandchildren from nursery monday - friday, if i start 3 hours later? And look after them until their parents come home?

The second ballot will be a resounding yes. As soon as all the grim details are laid out in front of everyone, including new starters, then there will only be one answer.
My COM's are hating this. And cannot believe that they are in the same position as us posties.

Back in the day i had a 12 grand order at about 110p in place. That was around the last IA vote. The price hit 119p at it's lowest. Obviously it never got fillled. I may put something similar in at 100p.
2 rounds of IA potentially. If the first one goes through the 2nd is a certainty.

He just paid himself a bonus of 135 grand (i think). Now that doesn't mitigate his losses from that purchase, but i'm sure that the shareholders have voted to keep him in post. And then he can give himself and his mates more bonuses. And pay rises. Maybe the shareholders could agree to a shares option package for productivity? If he doesn't meet targets, he'll get them anyway.
