I recall complaining vigorously last year about the lunacy of using our precious funds to buy-back our own shares (then dump them into ‘treasury’ rather than cancelling them to reduce our shares in circulation so that we shareholders reap a benefit) !

Alternatively - use the cash to buy back debt, or drill, or improve facilities and production …..whatever.

Well now we know why - and the small, select group who benefits royally from the miss-use of our funds.
