Wonder when the general population in Kurdistan will realise that one familly is pocketting the wealth of their region ?
Baghdad should be calling the shots here…..not cowering in fear of one family’s ill-gotten billions.
DNO has a very slick manager (who speaks the lingo) and a dynamic management team, coupled with several World operations/markets …… so they can (and do) play hardball with their customers.
I think we would notice a few changes if they bought us out. 🙏
Didn’t they already sign an agreement to receiving a % of the Iraqi National budget to pay these mysterious local salaries as part of the SOMO oil marketting agreement ?
They also receive free oil from we mugs - when they see necessary, if that is not enough.
Guess it’s best to have their hooves on the oil sails cash, and then decide who gets what out of the oil sales loot, secretly within Erbil.
….. and so it goes on, and on, and on.
OK, lets ass-u-me that its the PSCs which are the latest bone of the camel’s back.
Just get the tribals together for a biscuit meet to agree on a % of the daily revenues which SOMO collects, then a further biscuit bonanza to divi up each participant’s slice of that %…. and job done.
As a catalyst - gee them on by calculating and presenting each of them with how much they are missing flowing into their personal accounts per day - and signatures approving tap openings will surely follow.
What the general population has missed out on due to this petulant farce is of course irrelevant.
The $1.4billion fine due to Baghdad from Ankara can be discounted from the tariff from using the pipes.
Job done.
Trust that our Myles Caggins has taken time to (try) to get Biden and his minions to understand that the prime motivation of these tribals visiting the hallowed White House is that of personal gains, and all the delays, broken promises (and occassional outright lies) spun out at the plethora of biscuit meetings held up to now - are solely to that ends.
What an interestin day tomorrow should be……. what biscuits will Biden serve (and have they been approved by all tribal attendees ? or a huffy, puffy walkout can be anticipated.
Yes, its as daft as that.
Any of you other guys ‘n gals getting the distinct impression that we are just getting jerked around here by a bunch of numpties hell bent on emmulating the road map to huge personal wealths pioneered by the bar-z boys ?
‘Rape of a Nation‘ springs to mind!
This strategy can only be for personal gains - as it is patently not to benefit the Iraqi population, nor is it to attract foreign investment and jobs into the regions ?
If the unpaid invoices had been paid - what would we have spent it on anyway ?
We have no debt to offset against.
Perhaps the BoD could have awarded themselves some bonus payments for having seen us safely thro’ Covid, and paying down our debt for us ??
Buoyant annual summary, under the circumstances.
ICG should redirect the daily $1m pipeline fee due to Turkey - to whichever party is causing it to remain shut……. or deduct it from the $1.4B Ankara owes Baghdad.
Pivot point from this excellent article is this comment:
«However, the KRG in particular has blocked the resumption of shipments due to disagreements between Baghdad and Erbil over contracts for international oil companies operating in Iraq«
As always… these contracts are being held up as the disputed point purely due to the need to incorporate a means of pilferring for the tribal leaders to secure their birthright to sponge off their own population.
Were our missing payments last year used to pay the Kurdistan salaries via Erbil (as Baghdad had not forwarded the 12.7% due to Erbil), or were they cheekily ‘acquired’ by the usual suspects - as they knew that we and our PSCs could be used and abused at will )?
Solve this, and we have a clear case to take to court for the recovery of payments + interests due.
