Hamm ; you do realise that the brokers do not lend any Matd shares out to short with ? Their clearing banks clearly consider it to be too risky to allow shorting of Matd shares. That's not unusual with micro caps that have a history of volatile price action.

And that with derivatives they are separate to the underlying asset - so no amount of shorting on IG or City Index will impact on the share price. People often use derivatives anyway to hedge.

So nobody who posts on here is shorting the actual shares, and if they are shorting on IG or City Index it doesn't matter.

Hopefully Thornogson. I've been here a long time, and I would love to see it properly turn at long last.

I missed out on cashing in on last year's spikes unfortunately, and then got caught with the last raise. Both expensive mistakes - though right now it's just a paper loss unless I take Hamm's great advice....

Adw ; that's interesting what you said about the general decrease in the number of AIM spikes and their magnitude. In the case of Matad this has set in since this year - 2023 was very lively in comparison.

I wonder if it's due to the capital outflows out of AIM ?

Thornogson ; hopefully it's the latter of your explanations. I'm pretty happy with the fundamentals compared to a year ago, but not at all enamoured with the current price action. I'm hoping that the 2024 will end up mirroring the 2022 chart, with a big price hike in December.

A DQE deal would surely ignite it ?

At the end of the day it's the price action that we are all here for. If we had say 4 wells and the price is still 2.4p then what exactly is the point ?

Look at last year's chart, and notice how lively the price action was last year compared to this year when production has actually started and the land access issue has finally been sorted.

Hamm ; I have held for 5 years. Why the hell should I sell when my average is 3.5p ?

And how long have you been holding for, how many shares and what's your average ? If you wont answer then maybe I might think that you're a fake.

Proquo ; the point I am trying to make is - why are we stuck at this price level with fundamentals that are light years better than previous price jumps to 7p or even 35p ? Last year we had 6p and then 7p in May 2023 fairly soon after a raise.

Thornogson ; we've had the granting of the land access, a raise to fund some wells and now the start of production.

In early 2023 we had no legal access to the land and no immediate prospect of production. Plus no Heron 2 drilling or an 'agreed in principle ' agreement with PC. Yet still it went to 6p and then soon after to 7p. Yes, thee has been a raise since, but it still doesn't add up. Why did pump and dumps happen then but not now on much better fundamentals being made apparent in a flow of RNS releases ?

Proquo ; so how would you explain the two rises to just over 6p and then again to just over 7p early last year fairly soon after a raise, and with no significant news of any note in an RNS of that time, and with the company back then having no idea whatsoever whether it would obtain the land access consent at any point in the near future, or even at all ?

Adw ; anybody capable of understanding a long-term chart would know that we were never going down to 1p. 1.8p has been the lowest support over many years, and often support has been at just over 2p.

I still can't believe how many people never study charts, as it reveals short and long-term patterns in the price action. People who use charts are looking for patterns. I'm interested right now at how closely the 2024 price action mirrors tat of 2022. If it carries on then we may get a large move up in early December again.

Proquo ; I don't disagree. Buying in on the raise was a pretty sure-fire way of making sure that the risk was already factored in to your purchase price.

My average is 3.5p as I was caught out by the raise. Don't forget that the company hadn't stated how much a well costs prior to to raise - it was only clarified to investors by PM's Jerry in the investor presentation. It could have cost $500,000 for all we knew that the time. It turns out that the figure is $4m.

Thornogson ; don't get me wrong - a lot of de risking has happened in recent months, starting crucially with the land access. However, as I said before, 5 years of mainly nothing but pain with this share makes me cautious, and I will not indulge in the hyperbole that some spout on here.

Ideally I would like to see an agreement with DQE because IMO that would further de risk the prospect of another raise. Do you know how much the monthly running costs of the company are to confidently state that the income from one or two wells will finance the next two wells ? We haven't even got the flow figures for either H1 or H2 yet .

Proquo ; the question is why did it go to 35p when the company didn't even have the exploitation licence from the government ? At that point seemingly the local land access issue wasn't known about - that came after the exploitation licence was granted.

5 years of being battered by this share have made me cautious, and averse to enthusiasm which becomes hyperbolic.

Thornogson - the downside risks are another raise to finance more wells, plus the fact that Matd so far has a licence for 4.5 years. Why hasn't the new provincial governor signed yet ?

I don't know if you are aware, but Hamm told us all on here that ' there is no risk guys 'months before the district committee ever met in order to vote on whether to grant the land access. IMO Matd would probably have gone bust if the committee had not voted in their favour, as the tripartite agreement at the provincial level has still not been signed by either governor. So without that consent none of what is happening now would be happening.
