"China has fully militarized at least three of several islands it built in the disputed South China Sea, arming them with anti-ship and anti-aircraft missile systems, laser and jamming equipment and fighter jets in an increasingly aggressive move that threatens all nations operating nearby, a top US military commander said Sunday."
@Londonsuede ;
" At least they want peace in the world and respect sovereign country's border, not same as the Rus bears. i think "
You don't realise then that China has ramped up sales of machine tools, microelectronics and other technology that Moscow is using to produce missiles, tanks, aircraft and other weaponry ?
Or that China doesn't recognise the sovereignty of Taiwan ? If it invades then it will destroy world trade and cause a monumental shock to the world economy. All the supply chains built up in the last three decades would fall apart, and most likely there would be the mother of all financial crises. The US and the EU would be under pressure to wean themselves off Chinese trade and minerals, so inflation would soar like never before. Plus Taiwan produces more than 60% of the world's semiconductors and over 90% of advanced ones.
Anyway, if China is so peaceful why are they creating so many bases in the South China Sea ? They are a nasty, authoritarian regime who are anything but peaceful...
Roxy2020 ; very true.
Master82 ; well the Chinese are parasites for sure. Look at what they are doing In Africa with the natural resources there. Communist regimes are generally pretty ruthless - and of course PC is state owned. I guess all oil explorers in Mongolia have been tarred with the same brush.
Master82; you wrote ; "Government has been dragging their feet to get a land access."
However, my understanding is that the SP tripartite agreement has already been signed by the relevant government ministry and MATD, and that the third signature required is that of the provincial governor.
It's the District land access that is the one that we are more likely to obtain soon - the SP agreement may not even matter in the end if the District issues permits for 2024 and 2025 this year once operations get underway and the locals seem happy.
One thing I have learnt from all this - AIM speculative shares such as this one are better traded - to just put a chunk of money into something like MATD, and then to wait for potentially years that it will come good makes no sense, and is super risky. The other day a NASDAQ stock went up 500% in 90 minutes, yet investors here would think that they had hit the jackpot if MATD went up 500% from where it is now, having waited 5 or more years for a decent return.
If we get back to 4.5p soon then I will be making a decision as to whether to take about a third out, with the possibility of buying in lower. There is an incredibly strong resistance level at 4.5p, and the price has rejected multiple time at that level. A lot of shorting algo bots will kick in at 4.5p unless the District access permit comes through before then, so that the share price on very high volume punches through to resistance levels quite a bit higher up - say 8p or 10p.
Cybertron ;
"Guys, once we get landuse agreement done I'm sure it doesn't matter if special purpose takes another 6 months does it ? "
That's right I believe. The District land access sign off is needed to commence immediately this year, however the Special Purpose agreement currently being stalled by the governor would only be necessary so as avoid PM having to apply with the District authorities in future years starting from 2025.
I don't think that Hamm has this clear in his head. The SP tripartite agreement being signed by the third and final party will only be necessary for 2025.
Poole122 ; the main thing about ' Professional ' is that he went on and on about shorting at 4.5p, but then held out when it reached 4.4p instead of pressing the trigger. Any decent trader would have thought that there is no difference between 4.4p and 4.5p and would know that the price doesn't always exactly bounce off the previous resistance - 4.4p was close enough to the deeply entrenched resistance of 4.5p to not matter. Yet he didn't short, and missed the 40% fall to 2.5p on the open straight after the release.
A decent short trader would have been in like a shot when it got to 4.4p.
BP ; Ok - fair enough.
BP ; when you say ' it's what we pay them for ' are you invested ??
Aeshylus ; ah yes - thanks for clarifying. It wasn't my imagination then. Obviously the ' agencies ' are all local - no central government involved, which is a relief. It may have been a mistake to use the term ' agencies ' plural. I hope so.
Master82 ; ok, thanks for that.
I've been combing through the previous RNS releases for that reference to ' government agencies ' in relation to the District land access approval - but I can't find it. I could have sworn that I read it somewhere and that somebody else on here referred to it as well. Hopefully I have got it wrong, and all the land access paperwork has only to do with the District administration.
Master82 ; thanks. I've seen it, but I'm not sure how to get it into Google Translate. I can't just copy and paste it over.
"I have been chatting to the local district administrator and he told me they are still supporting PM. Now that's what matters. No interference from the governor which is a huge relief. "
master82 ; that's good news. How are you communicating with him ?
I would like to know about the ' government agencies ' which were referred to in the RNS - it said that the District permission had to go via these agencies. I would like to know whether it is now with these agencies, and if so, is it moving ahead smoothly ? And is there any indication now of likely timescales ?
Aeschylus ; yes, that's the question that I wanted answering as well. I was surprised that nobody put this forward at the AGM. We badly need to know how far we have advanced with the District permission, given that the committee voted in MATD's favour 9 or 10 weeks ago now. This permission is far more likely to be signed and sealed soon than the SP tripartite agreement, which needs the governor's signature.
Also, the RNS referred to ' government agencies ' in relation to this process. So who are these agencies, and where is it at with them now ?
Thornogson ; Hamm was telling people on here that ' there is no risk ' to use his exact words, prior to the second to last RNS release. So that was actually before we even knew that the District committee had voted in favour of MATD's land access permission.
People go on about WOS, but at least he brings quite useful information to the table, whereas Hamm has trotted out loads of similar posts for months ; ' get in now guys, we wont see such a cheap price ever again ' or ' I can sell x no of shares with my broker - get in and buy buy buy now guys ' ' don't miss out guys ' ' don't let them take your golden shares cheaply ' etc etc .
I seem to remember that when I first started monitoring this board that Hamm was a huge critic of MB and MATD generally - more like Prof is now. And I notice that after the last RNS and AGM he has changed his tune again, from blatant ramping to outrage about the general situation...
Professional ; instead of wasting time every single day repeating the mantra ' there will be a raise soon ' how about spending that time focusing on timing your trades effectively ?
Like just recently when you went on and on about shorting when it reached 4.5p. Well, it reached 4.4p and then spiked down to 2.5p on the open straight after the RNS, so you could have shorted at 4.4p and then bought back at 2.5p, giving you a quick 40% profit on your short. And then, if you had read the market, you could have gone long straight away near 2.5p and be 20% + so far in profit on that trade as well. A good short term trader would know that when lots of shorts close their positions at the same time there will be a bounce to the upside as they all buy back to close their positions. Even before the pretty positive AGM update by MB emerged yesterday, that bounce was happening off the low of 2.5p on the open straight after the RNS.
Some people talk the talk and others walk the walk....
@ benjamincp ; actually the really strong resistance level is at 4.5p - it's rejected at that level several times since mid December.
WOS - Thanks. That's interesting about the governor. Hopefully we may be rid of him soon.
And hopefully in time PM will be able to sue him and other members of the Provincial authority for using their mistake with the overlapping land as an absurd excuse in order to withhold their signature on the Special Purpose tripartite agreement when the other two parties had already signed it.
Doc83 ; Having now listened to what MB said, I would guess that it's the district land use permission that will come through first. And presumably this will not be impacted by the elections, as by the sounds of it will be the case with the special purpose tripartite agreement.
I think that there's a pretty good chance that Heron will commence in 2024.
As Master82 mentioned, there was no talk of hold ups with the local land use permission, and no talk of the provincial governor intervening with it.
Personally, I hope that in time the company will in time take legal action against the various parties who have deliberately held this up - not least the governor, who is actually using a mistake by his provincial authority through overlapping their protected land over Block XX as an absurd excuse not to sign the Special Purpose agreement. It's quite unbelievable.
Provincial authority I meant.
