What he said was deliberately misleading, as he wanted the share price to remain as high as possible so as to allow a large discount on the raise price offered to the city. When they are raising they need to take into account normal volume levels - not enough normal average volume and the raise may not be well subscribed. Therefore a large discount offered to the city boys is what works better so as to guarantee the required funding.

I agree Manx. AIM has significantly underperformed the FTSE 100 this year, and the fall in the share price over the last 6 months mirrors a large decline in the AIM index over that period. I think it's down about 10% during that time whereas the FTSE 100 has remained static.

There has been a lot of capital outflow from AIM recently - one major reason is Reeve's very ill advised policy of doing away with the Inheritance tax breaks. She's done away with 50% in the last budget, and the boss of AIM has publicly stated that she needs to inject confidence through declaring publicly that no more tax raids will follow. People are concerned about the remaining 50% tax break.

AIM is a dying index, and MB should make every effort to follow the example of many other companies through delisting on AIM and listing on Nasdaq instead.

Roxy ; it's been 300% to 400% price volatility between the high and the low of the year every year for at least the last 10 years.

In the case of 2016 it was more like 2,500% volatility between the high and the low. And the variations have been usually been seasonal.

A guy on ADVFN was saying that he buys every year abut now going back about 5 years, and that the spiel from the doom mongers and those wanting to scare to death existing share holders is music to his ears. It's a sure sign that the bottom has been reached - and particularly as right now we are bouncing off a support level which is clearly very entrenched according to a 10 year chart.

Ornamental ; check out a 10 year chart. You will find that the price action with this share is very seasonal in terms of direction. And so far the chart for 2024 is very similar to that of 2022, when the share price suddenly went into lift off from the 4th or 5th f December. I pointed this out weeks ago.

As regards being underwater - I have held shares since as long ago as late 2019. I should have dipped in and out had I realised the patterns of the share movement years ago - but I guess that's what learning is all about. And in every single one of those 4 years I was in profit at some point during the year. Mainly I have been underwater for most of a given year - but that just reflects how seasonal the share price patterns are, which tend to repeat year after year. I think that it would require some major shift in the fundamentals somewhere for these patterns to be broken. There was that extraordinary rocketing of the share price in 2016 from something like where we are now up to 38p at its peak.

Espen has been reported - hopefully he will be gone soon.

As a matter of fact I wonder what the legal repercussions would be if someone harmed him or herself due to psychological pressure caused by him taunting and gloating people on here who might be heavily underwater ? It could become a police matter, and no doubt he could be traced through his IP address. There are some mindless, malicious people in this world of ours.

The shakeout happens during an accumulation phase - something has to induce the sticky hands to let go....

I don't know - more like classic professional money distribution/accumulation for me. And a large shakeout to help the distribution phase around a historical low which has been a support level several times in the past going back some 11.5 years.

And then you have the seasonality aspect, which is very well established when you study a long term chart.

Gusto ; so what ? I stand by that post. AIM shares are way too volatile for me. I should have dipped in and out of MATD based on what the charts were telling me - I didn't pay enough attention to the obvious patterns which charts reveal. You know - things which you pay no attention to ?

It doesn't mean that I don't intend to maximise what I can in terms of profit from MATD, or that I think that its future prospects are bad.

If you're on here solely to spite people who are actual shareholders then why don't you just b****r off ? It sounds to me like you have some mental issues.

Gravy-train ; just block Adw. Like that Aspen person his only interest on here is to gloat at shareholders who may be underwater. It's time that the mods banned people like this, because the site wasn't intended to provide an outlet for schadenfreude merchants addicted to their dopamine fixes.

Master ; try to understand the difference between a paper loss and a crystallised loss.

This share has been at this level a number of times in the last 10 years, and it has also been as high as something like 38p. Often though it has bounced around between 1.5p and around 5p. The price action is seasonal - as is the paper loss for most.
