I watched a US micro cap soar a couple of weeks ago on he news that it was entering into a JV to provide two storage batteries which were costing in total about $2.5m. Don't underestimate BESS or hydrogen projects - we will probably have one or two of these running this year and they are a big deal these days. Thornogson ; that happened in 2023 with the 2.5p raise in February. The share price then soared to about 7p by early May.

I think what makes people jittery though is the current share price, because in Feb 2023 the raise happened at about 4p. The current share price is about 28% of the 5.3p share price peak of May last year. That's how shockingly volatile micro cap shares can be I'm afraid.

For me, it's where the share price will be at in May or June that really matters. Look at a chart showing the price action going back 10 years or so.

Hamm ; I think that there's a very good possibility of a DQE deal. It has been touted in the past, and I don't think that the outcome of H2 so far would necessarily put DQE off. They know what has been drilled on PC's side, as they did it.

I would also have thought that the MG are desperate now to fast-track the Heron development any which way that they can - surely they must be starting to panic by now about how who is going to supply this very expensive refinery ? It would surely be a national disgrace if after a great fanfare it opened, and then there was hardly any oil to supply it with....

I would have thought that a MG soft loan would be the other option - a $15 to $20m loan would be peanuts compared to the cost of the refinery.

Hamm ; the company was messed around for ages by that provincial governor. Buck did some wildcats because without legal access to Heron, there wasn't much else that the company could do, other than create renewable agreements with Sunsteppe. Legal access consent as only granted late in May last year - leaving little of the year left to do anything. Had consent been granted going into 2024 they would probably have had H1 and H2 sorted properly by now.

And had that blasted governor signed the tripartite agreement back in 2023 any money from subsequent raises could have been used to have H1 to H2 up and running by now, rather than having an entire year of sustaining the running costs of the company whilst having no legal access to Heron.....The shareholders have so far paid a big price for the behaviour of that governor.

With US microcaps it's a known fact that when a share is just shuffling sideways, with hardly any volatility, that algo bots simply buy and sell, and make profit on the spread. It's not a bad thing, as it maintains liquidity.

I wouldn't be surprised if the same thing happens with UK micro caps during phases of the price action such as we are in at the moment. That's why you see so many neat 100k or 200k buys and sells etc.

The difference between then and now is that with no land access consent the anticipated bopd was zilch, nada, zero, nothing....

Had the district committee voted No last May then that would have been the end of the company apart from renewables maybe. More wildcats but no Heron probably wouldn't have attracted a subscribed raise.

Stockmaiden ; and what about during covid in 2020 ? The borders were shut, absolutely nothing was happening, and back then nobody had even granted the company any legal access to the land. Nor was there any indication as to whether an access permit would ever be granted. It all seemed completely lost and hopeless back then.

It's obvious that there are some paid derampers on here. I doubt if any of them are invested, however someone or some entity is very likely renumerating them in order to spend a lot of time on a board like this one, posting about a share and company which they otherwise have no interest in.

It's kind of weird, but in the world of microcaps, with typically very low daily volumes it's obvious that there are people out there who think it's worth their while to infest boards like this one. Espen has hopefully been banned from the site - has he been on here recently ?

Gusto ; a seasonal rise in the 3rd day of the new year ? Seasonal can mean any different parts of a given year brain box.

Take a look at price action and educate yourself as to when the peaks of the year typically tend to be...A clue- in 2024 the month of the peak was fairly typical....

Doc regarding how the last raise in your estimation has only resulted in H2, how about considering the renewable side. Their partners say on their website that Matd is providing financing, and didn't the Progressive report state that some storage batteries will become commercial in 2025 ?

People should think more about this side of things, as I've just watched a US microcap go up from about 0.30 of a Dollar just before yesterday's market opened to touch $3.5 Dollars soon after today's session started in the US.....And the news was that the company had gone into a JV agreement for the purchase and development of two battery storage systems of 392 MWH each. And the estimated investment cost ? About 2.35m Euros...

Doc - I wasn't talking about the first 3 months of the year. That was your interpretation. I have told you before that the peak tends to be in May or June - just like it was in 2024. From late summer until the end of the year the share price is typically weak.

Badprophet ; If so then it would be the first year in at least the last 11 that the share price has not moved up in the new year. It's more a matter of when. And that includes the 2020 covid year when all the borders were shut and the company didn't have any local access consent anyway....Yet people are more pessimistic now than they were back at the start of 2020 just after covid hit....People are often more emotional than logical.

Wigster ; at some point in every year I've been in profit at some point in the year and yet not cashed in. If people want to stick their money in and leave it for several years then that's their prerogative...

Wigster - the share price is seasonal for those with the intelligence to spot patterns.
