I'm looking forward to a big announcement on 27/07/21 (next Tuesday) to perk up the SP (joke).

Just out of interest, has anyone on here ever made any money (or lost any) following a recommendation made by Hardman & Co?

If so, what was the name of the company?

I'd be surprised if the people who stumped up £3.15M recently made their investments based on the meagre information that the average Joe investor/shareholder has to put up with. It's not good enough.

I don't think that it's unreasonable for shareholders to expect quarterly trading updates. Me asking for one isn't going to do the trick.

IMO, the market wants to see the TU for Q1. You can't distract it releasing news of a piddling order from one of your partners/shareholders.

JST = John Stamp (JST's CEO).

John Stamp = major shareholder in Cyan.

Another masterclass in how to disappoint the market and drive the share price down. I give up.

I now doubt that we'll have a TU for Q1.

Perhaps Q1 has been particularly difficult (no sales, no chips etc), which might explain the remuneration committee's decision re option prices. If a poor update was released, who knows where the SP would drop to.

Really disappointed but not surprised. Nothing goes to plan here.

Yes, it appears that the II's valued the co somewhere between 9.5p and 13.5p (say £25M), which is why they bought on the market up to that higher price.

I am expecting the Q1 trading update to land early next week.

More luck than judgement.
No more Cyan for me for the time being. Sorting out this year's VCT investment at the end of the month with the new shares in the Amati AIM VCT, so will be a bit low on funds for the time being.

They seem to have stumbled across a unique way of doing business. No new sales in 10 months and the SP is up by 100%, which suggests that, if this form continues (i.e. no new sales), the SP should be 22p by May'22. I've given up trying to make any sense of things here.

Aren't WDJP's and JC's averages about 18p-20p per share? Perhaps a bit less when you take into account EIS reliefs.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's going to be a buyout in the 20p-30p region (£45M to £60M), allowing WDJP and JC to cut and run with their money back plus some, which would be absolutely fine by me.

The 14.5p SP target is looking like a more reasonable challenge for JC & HP by the minute.

Change is a good thing, it's ossification that should be avoided, tonyj.

It's not the first time this recalibration has happened at Cyan, why all the grumbling now?
We're entering the end game and he's getting all of his ducks in a row. The initial 33% needs to be a worthwhile amount because maybe the 2nd & 3rd tranches might never happen, for whatever reason.
Give them a break. They've worked hard and made us plenty of money. All we've done is sat on our ar**s and slapped some cash down, nothing more.
Upwards & onwards. Up the 'workers'.

I do find it quite funny that Chris Jones, who chairs the Remuneration Committee has a whopping £6K invested in the company. Hardly a ringing endorsement. Perhaps he should give himself some more.

There's always money out there to be had because there's more money than sense. Potential shareholders just need to be sold a good story and Cyan had/has one.
I don't think that JC & HP are overpaid. They've made me quite a few bob (on paper), which is good enough for me.
