Can anyone help me with this one:-
In the fundraise, why is HP's £20K described as a Placing, while JC's, DJP's and CJ's are described as Subscriptions?

IMO, the only reason that they were able to borrow money last time was because there was no risk of the lender not being paid (secured against R&D Tax Credit refund). That's why it was bang out of order to help themselves to 14% interest.

You get more than 1% when there's more risk. You shouldn't get 14% when there's virtually no risk. IMO, they should give 12.5% interest back to the company.

Talking about directors piling in, JC & HP invested £90K in total. They received £54K from the company in October, after charging the company 14% interest on their loan to it for 10 months (what a nerve). Therefore, that makes a net investment of £36K.

Bearing in mind they earn £300K+ and £200K+ pa respectively, not that big a punt.

In the fundraise, why is HP's £20K described as a Placing, while JC's, DJP's and CJ's are described as Subscriptions?

If so, I'll be filling my 22/23 ISA ASAP.

Should it be being read as Cyan targeting 20m-30m of the active tenders, not 20m-30m of the 250m total?

We're quoting the same figures pretty much. You quoted 8%-12% and I quoted 7%-12%.

Also end of tax year on Tuesday. There might be a bit of profit taking between now and then, as PI's tidy up their portfolios.

Just this week, in the Placing document, the company has reiterated that it is only 'targeting' to win 7% - 12% of Indian smart meters over the next five years.

To me, that sounds like they are anticipating other companies winning at least 88% - 93%.

I doubt that they had an alternative source of cash. No guaranteed R&D Tax refund to borrow against and perhaps JC, HP and DJP didn't fancy lending the company this time round - not sure that they'd get their cash back.
I'd like to know how much of the <£2M is still invested.

Remember, those shares hit 1.4p each in May 2020.

Directors (including Executive Chairmen) are as clueless as you and me when it comes to knowing when to buy/sell shares. For example, JC's buy at £1.28 wasn't such a great move in April 2013.

I'm not interested in what the directors are doing. JC recent investment was only him investing the cash that he made in interest from the company by charging it an extortionate rate, when there was no risk of his loan not being repaid.
News can pop out anytime - the directors have no control over that whatsoever.
The broker's clients helped out with a bigger 2021/2022 profit than they should have might buy back in 2022/2023, once they've had their 30 day break.

As always, there's more cash out there than sense. The <£2M was effortlessly raised while energy and its price is the hot topic - easy pickings.
A decent window opened for those clients of the broker who wanted to get out.
It's a grubby old business.

FWIW, I think that the SP will drift back to 14p or lower.

I can't see it going anywhere for a while. There's the Trading Update to 31/03/2022 to get out of the way (probably mid April) - we already know what that's going to look like. Then it's the wait for some contract news - autumn/winter'22 I'd guess.

Or perhaps the old Trust beneficiaries see this as another good moment created to turn their Cyan shares into cash. Who knows?

Looks to me like some of those 'invited' to the 14p party are happy to cash in with a quick 20% profit.

I'm sure it was oversubscribed - robbing b*******.
