Huge fan of my local Cineworld (Meadowhall) especially after its stunning revamp - and nothing will ever match the big screen experience of films like Dunkirk, Gravity, etc... But reading today's depressing Telegraph article on Disney seems to confirm that what we're witnessing - regardless of any future vaccine - is the terminal demise of mass cinema going. Of course cinemas will continue in some form or other, mostly small independents. But for multinationals with huge auditoria to fill and massive overheads, the credits are rolling.

I know many here will disagree. But denial is not a river in Africa.

Guys, please don’t think I’m being needy saying this but I’m actually starting to count many of you as friends. I... I feel I can reach out and tell you anything and I was so looking forward to doing just that, sharing harrowing personal histories at the Wetherby £45 a share party which according to Richken’s summer predictions would’ve been in about a fortnight. Damn this Corona virus! Grrr!! And after another fall in the share price today I guess we’re all feeling impatient for that game changing RNS.

And this put me in mind of a Valentine’s meal my lovely lady wife and I shared a few years ago...

She again chose the ‘Salt & Battery’ fish bar in Doncaster famous for its atmospheric flickering batten lights and the intoxicating aroma of sizzling fishcakes producing a sensuous air of northern menace – I mean promise

Granted the proprietor seemed in no rush to batter my wife’s sausage but unwilling to wait any longer she vaulted the counter and began battering him. I’ll spare you the details but the cries set off several car alarms and although we managed to retrieve the poor guy alive from the vat this being my wife’s 14th conviction sentencing was swift and harsh leaving me to single parent our twins Jaycee and Destiny and several cute but lively American pit bulls.

All this talk of lockdown hardship... guys, walk a mile in my Nikes!

Well anyway that was a time ago and I guess the point of the story is this...PATIENCE! Our game changing battered sausage will be done when it’s done, so let’s not all pile on Cyril – sorry, Sir Al. I’m 99% confident some of us will still be alive when our test hits the market and in the meantime just remember why you invested

Guys, guys, I’m scratching my head as I type this... and not because my lovely lady wife has been struck by head lice again (if only Cyril - sorry, Sir Al - would apply some of them thar affimer technologies to these pesky little bggers) but I’m at a loss to understand all this friendly fire again tonight – one Avacta devotee turning on another. And for what ?? For the crime of holding a difference of opinion??

Without naming names – PL75 - we know we have a small but vocal band of Avacta ultras prone to industrial language, given to play rough with new posters, apt to pistol-whip the odd doubter, the odd dissenter, the odd... bod... in fact pretty much anyone really. But having read their contributions over a few months now I’m convinced that their hearts like their Avacta investment are totally in the right place. There are no bullies on this BB. Just the occasional hot-head. And for all they can be a little over zealous in their support for this share, the ultras have frequently posted some of the most illuminating posts I’ve read on here. PL75 is not on the LSE leader board for his warmth and winning ways and this board would be poorer without him / her

Richken - following your undertaking yesterday to refrain from posting for a while you have posted more copiously than my local delivery office and that Sr is not a criticism – warms the ****les of my heart whenever I read your unswerving positivity

As for Global – whatever his Avacta position, no one can deny he takes a relentless kicking in his stride - a truly admirable quality in this Age of the Snowflake. For me he's earned the right to post whatever the hell he likes and if you don't like it... try this radical solution: ignore him.

Of course, we all know much if not all of these growing antagonisms are purely down to this endless wait for our game changing phone charger RNS. Be honest - would any of us be at each others throats if this share were £3+ ??

Hi guys... just taking a breather from writing my wife’s Christmas cards to friends and family in HMP Belmarsh (yes she wants to get Crimble out of the way early this year so she can put all her energies into next year’s National Log Lifting Championships in Darlington ... that’s assuming Boris doesn’t put the kibosh on another major sporting event. #pray for Darlington)

I’ll be really honest guys, I’m feeling a little sombre as I type this; not because these darn Superdrug plasters are way too small for my wife’s verrucae (arrggg!) but reading through yesterday’s and some of this morning’s posts I sense a growing impatience, nay, weariness even amongst our Avacta ultras.

Our Lord and Master, Ophidian, has seen fit to do what all Messiahs must do in the end - leave us to spread his gospel amongst the non believers (often referred to on here as "twats"), the sinners and fornicators, the woefully uneducated. (I guess I’ll take the fornicators).

Richken who would normally draw 40+ upticks per post now barely struggles to attract 1 (still lovin' that soaring positivity Richken... keep it coming... especially the bit about £250 per share by November). And all this impatience puts me in mind of an ancient Greek fable about a Hare and a Tortoise...

For anyone from Leeds unfamiliar with this classic yarn: an upstart Hare and a completely stoned Tortoise have a race, and although the Hare wins by a country mile and goes on to make £billions and £billions, the Tortoise is completely chilled about it. Why? Because he’s focussing on an entirely different race, a marathon that he can’t lose because there’s no other competition... Clever, huh?

I guess what I’m really trying to say is... just remember why you invested guys.

I do. I remember. It’s about a... it’s about a... a phone charger... no! no! ... a game changer. That’s it.

It’s about a game changing phone charger that will transform the world and one day all our patience will be rewarded with an RNS that will blow us away. Not all of us – many of us will be long dead before then, but for the few that remain; those that can still remember how to hold a spoon let alone why they invested; they will be blown away.

So... hold fast guys!

All this talk of 80's / 90's nightclubbing sends me careering down sentimental alley.... I don't recall anyone who wasn't either (a) in a band or (b) trying to form one when I left school in '83 - but what else could you do in a city with mass unemployment?! Jobless youngsters today have training opportunities / social media / computer gaming / dating apps, you name it to fill the time and dull the creative instinct. But in Sheffield in the 80's the choice was either Pebble Mill at One and Mr and Mrs, or... form a band.

The result was an intoxicating creative boom the like of which could never be repeated today unless they banned the internet and forced people to seek out / create live entertainment again. It aint going to happen - and you only have to look at the dire state of British music to see the consequences. British bands / artists utterly dominated the globe until the rise of the internet.

The Thomson Twins. Heaven 17, The Human League, ABC, Def Peppard, Pulp... instead of knives and forks Sheffield literally started spitting out quality bands @ 10 a penny.... I recall having a pi ss in the Limit Club one night with Jarvis ****er to my left / Martin Fry to my right / and Phil Oaky stoically holding it in behind. There were so many up-coming bands that rehearsal space was impossible to find - so as a cheeky Young Socialist (who isn't a socialist when you're 17 ??) I persuaded the Leadmill manager to let us rehearse on stage one Sat afternoon. He agreed - until some arrogant little s hit (the yet-to-be-famous Morrissey) told us to clear off claiming he needed to do a sound check. "Who the fk are you?" I asked.

He answered a few weeks later on Top of the Pops :/

Fast forward 4 decades and like many here I seem to be on the cusp of making far sweeter music with EUA and GGP than I ever did in my Sheffield band. But I'm not counting chickens - learnt that lesson from sxx - my final prediction (Ian, please note, thank you) is a conservative 55p, well short of the price mooted by many. But whatever the final outcome, no one can deny the articulate forensically researched case consistently made by Rowka week in week out on this board, and in the face of some pretty mean spirited criticism at times.

An LSE Legend in the making?

You'd be daft to rule it out.
