With his penetrating insights and his Kenneth Williams airs and put downs, of course this board is poorer for Ophidian’s absence; it would be churlish to deny it. But like other posters across LSE, in the end Ophidian was just too sensitive for his own good. It wasn’t enough that posters like me consistently ticked up his informed / lacerating contributions. Like a tubby North Korean he wanted unending, universal, uncritical adoration - anything less was ingratitude from us mere mortals
It’s lost on me why so many clever people like Ophidean are so quick to censure or sulk because of words. It seems to reflect a wider social malaise of wanting to be hermetically sealed from any conceivable offence and to ‘cancel’ all dissenting voices
When did we vote to reconfigure society around this b-s? When did we say yes to the Fascist practice of ostracising and destroying the livelihoods and reputations of anyone grown-up enough to express a different opinion to our own?
I’ve been on LSE for years and have read some horrendous / far-fetched / even unlawful stuff but I have never / will never put anyone on ‘ignore’
Why?
Because I’m not 7
Because I have a vertebrae
Because no matter how puerile or provocative or pompous - words will never give me cancer
STOP! STOP IT!! YOU DON'T NEED to DYOR this !! Trust me.... words will NEVER give you cancer
Words will never give you Covid19 or diabetes or seizures or sever a major artery or cut a limb from your body or put hairs on your chest - my wife being the sole exception
After several recent top ups (another one today) I now find myself so deep into Avacta my nose is just above the waterline. But as much as I feel a quickening of the pulse and a tingle of trepidation when I read posts by Alwaysweeing ticked-up by his little band of tormented Orcs, I’m pretty sure, I’m almost certain, his words will not kill me
Indy
James - I suspect most RK devotees - and I count myself as one - give (or ought to give) little credence to his faraway price forecasts informed as they are by de little people at de bottom of his garden, but that misses the point. We sway to the sound of his incessant positivity - an uplifting antidote to the skulking, maudlin doomsters - Alwayswinning and his band of tormented Orcs.
Indy
Riveting board today - more stomach churning ups and downs / twists and turns than a Newcastle stag-night-out and not just from our respected Avacta ultras - PL75 (deserves his own published column surely), Mr Space, Gazala, Chengdo, Tomvis, DOH85, et al. Credit to Ali_maynard1982 for daring to post an actual FACT albeit dampening the mood with it and to PAH00, Spike 66, Derbyone, and others for posting objective reasons to be cheerful again. Seriously - my Spectator subscription doesn't provide half the erudition and entertainment this board does – thanks all posters
Yes - like Profitseeker68 earlier today – there’s a tormented, skulking, beady-eyed band of orcs brooding in the shadows eager to pounce on any hint of bad news, but it’s a measure of the blinding prospect Avacta holds out that so many who decry this share are irresistibly drawn to it... must send em completely doolally poor things
Enough Indy – just get to the point and tell us your current holding no one asks:
Well having sold three bales of Mrs Indy's chest hair on Gumtree I managed TWO top ups in the week bringing my total stake to a leg jellying 88 shares - average 82p - value £137.
I know... I'm somewhere beyond ‘balls deep’ now but it's Avacta ...I just can’t help myself
Indy
RNS incoming ... Alastair's just signed a contract with Spit the dog to promote our game changing test !!
Just gets better and better...
Alwayswinning – starting to get a strong whiff of the maudlin, skulking, teen-Goth about you sir... be honest – do you brood away in a blacked-out box bedroom splattered with posters of Marylin Manson and Phillip Hammond??
Anyway, indulging this board’s seriously unnatural disinterest in my investment I can announce a 167p top up earlier. Yes an uncharacteristic rush of blood I may live to regret but it bumps my holding up to 82 shares = average 81p Value - a head-spinning £126. This makes me (as the rougher Leeds based boys and girls on this board are apt to say) “in balls deep”.
Still my beating heart
Richken- Chairman of the board! Although your price predictions must surely be informed by tiny voices at the bottom of your garden your unstinting positivity fortifies the nerves and cures insomnia – priceless! I’ve made a small donation supporting young Charlotte’s brave struggle – less we forget what really matters
Rorkesdrift – that flash of comic genius yesterday am re: ‘four SKIN’ made my avatar laugh out so loud there may be permanent lung damage - so I’ve taken another small stake in Synairgen. It's an ill wind...

Chrishar (referring to your post 9.22am) - I'm no fan of Trump but why does it literally "depress" you that he / his press sec, refer to C-19 as the 'China Virus' ? Do you get similarly despondent when you hear people refer to "German measles" or "Ebola virus" or "Dengue fever"? Would you feel a whole lot chipper if only C-19 had originated from the US or UK?
Imagine the mass violent demos on our streets had it originated from a US lab or a US meat market and the Trump administration denied its potency and literally 'disappeared' the brave scientists who tried to alert the world? Just imagine the mass boycott of all US goods and services fanned, of course, by the BBC and high profile celebs
Why do you suppose China gets a pass?
Why doesn't it "depress" you that this is far from the first deadly virus to originate from a country that tolerates what at best can only be described as 'curious' food management practices? It depresses me. Why doesn't the idea that China locking up millions of Muslims for the crime of being Muslim depress you? It depresses me. Why doesn't China's violent crack down of ordinary decent people defending their democracy in Hong Kong depress you? It does me.
Did you know that black people were recently banned from entering McDonalds in Guangzhou China?
How's that make you feel?
One day even China apologists will come to regret this slavish, fawning, supine attitude we've all shown to a one-party fascist dictatorship bent on global domination. And then we'll all have good reason to feel utterly miserable.

Greenlabel.... I've read your last few posts as carefully as any as I peruse these BBs and for the life of me I cannot fathom what's eating you Sir. Clearly something is. But I can't fathom it.
And I will never get that time back again. Indy
I know I shouldn’t continue feeding the interest in my holding expressed by absolutely no one on this BB but I am proud to have resisted temptation to top slice these last couple of days fortified chiefly by the wit and sagacity your man PL75 filling at least some of the void left by Ophidian ... Thus my holding now stands at a very handsome 72 shares = £119.
Suck on that Alwayswinning.
Indy
Some of the square-jawed Avacta ‘Ultras’ were none too chuffed with me last night for daring – oh indeed - DARING to express a slightly dissenting opinion to theirs on the current state of play. And it didn’t stop there... I then DARED to say (and I meant it) that in the absence of significant news this morning I would flog a 1/3 of my holding.
Well, cometh the morrow cometh......news
Now clearly I’m not taking credit for prompting today’s RNS... I mean... that would just be... that would...
.....
Yes. Yes I'm taking full credit for today’s RNS (you’re welcome ladies & gentleman) but the question is - was it ‘significant’ enough news for me to hold off selling my 1/3 thus triggering a catastrophic collapse in the share price, holing Avacta, shattering the hopes / dreams of thousands of Private Investors, lions and tigers and bears oh my...
Well I started the day with 72 shares (value £92) and at the close I held 72 shares (value £95).
I’ll let you do the maths.
Indy
What exactly Alwayswinning keeps 'winning' he's far too modest to say... but we can all agree it's not friends. Yes?
So why does he persist dishing the dirt on this our beloved 'game changing' stock? Well, I don't buy the de-ramper / shorter argument; if that were true he would've quit ages ago. And I don't think he's some sad old wacko because I recognise my own a mile off. Right or wrong, Alwayswinning, is sound of mind. His big axe to grind is the 50mil fund raise - he just will not let it lie. Like some unrequited love it literally eats away at him. It is in the dictionary defination of the word, pathetic.
But to be fair, with each week sans our much heralded money spinning saliva test, he has a case. He may overstate that case - I think he does - but he puts it courteously and consistently despite often personal abuse, week in, week out, and that, ladies and gentleman, brings me to my point: it is week in, week out. Al has allowed doomsters like Alwayswinning to gain in currency and you ignore that fact at your peril.
With no significant news tomorrow I'm de-risking a 1/3. And the same again next week. The final 1/3 I can afford to lose because like most here I've now developed an emotional attachment. Eek! And to be clear I'm doing this not because of one man's incessant bleating, nor because our former standard bearer (Richken) has done a Keyser Sose on us (where the f... did he go???) but because I'm beginning to doubt, with some justification I feel, the credibility of the captain in charge of our intrepid vessel. Hope I'm wrong. I'll be the first to admit it if I am. Indy.
....and in the event how low are you saying this could go? Indy
PL75 / Ophidian .... the chilling way, like a pair of raptors, you set about disembowelling the ill-informed posters on 'ere must trigger some kind of latent sadism in me because the entertainment you provide almost compensates for the absence of my dear old AVCT comfort blanket (Richken). Please keep up the slashing gentleman. Indy
Ken - you must admit some of your predictions have been so off the mark it has cost you a bit of credibility. But having become addicted to your posts there is no doubting your honesty, your integrity, and your unswerving positivity. As much as I'm first and foremost out to line my own pockets, I'll be so chuffed for you and your missus when AVACTA deliver the mother load. ATB to you Sir. Indy
