Seem to remember that Alara was 'available' a couple of years back and the economics were not great then as they had to ship lower quality greater tonnage miles overland to the smelter. The rise in cu price helps hide things but doesn't alter the facts. Their full presentation next week will be interesting. However, the big thing to my mind is that they have been given a licence. I'm not really bothered what for or that it was only one out of five. At least it shows and proves that 'Closed' has been turned round to 'Open'". Hopefully the quality of the application work will give SAV two out of two - and we have seen the quality of the pre-application work before.

Approval for the mining lease applications I think is next quarter. I think we had understood it was 6 months after submission and therefore expecting June, but think we were updated a month or so back.

Other than the fact that both Alara and SAV are in line for an imminent mining licence from PAM based on a copper interest, do they have any other feature that can be regarded as similar. I suspect not that much and so the relative performance of their sp's is unlikely to run in parallel. Just interesting to see whether the licence lands.

Shane, Alara are suspended pending a possible (probable) announcement and will commence trading either on the announcement or Tuesday, whichever the earlier. PAM still holds the balls, if you will excuse the phrase, so there still remains no certainty when any announcement will be made. Could be during the day today. It's an excellent diversion and warm up act for the Portugal news.

Doubt that I am the only one who has checked the Oman Observer website to see if anything has been released by PAM today and have not checked whether Alara has released anything. Almost miss the Richy Ramp, sorry, positive comments on a Sunday evening especially when we should be expecting decent news within the next 10 working days. A repeat of Friday would be good.
