Busy pm yesterday,bought a lot of larger cap stuff,still have a lot of cash and waiting to see how things unfold.
Fed and congress throwing wads of cash at markets,has always worked since 2008 so expect it to work again in due course.
Should have a rally on Monday unless Trump or Biden comes down with the virus !!
Pdl a work in progress as long as it stays above zero all is not lost.I like trading but could not see a way of placing stops here so took a smaller size with a view to holding for a few years.
Crazy volatility,just like 2008.

Every time Trump opens his mouth the market sells off,if US closes neg at 8pm,anticipate more buying of Futures Mon morning.
The vol is incredible.
When you see defensives like Smith & Nephew selling off you know some Hedgies are illiquid and need Dollars,perhaps the Fed is attempting to stuff dollars into the wrong hole ! just keep buying the futures and short vol please Fed.

At 4am this morning a co-ordinated buy programme across all securities was commenced by Global central banks and their proxies.They do not want this to get out of control and will do whats necessary to stabalise markets.For now the path of least resistance is up.

I think my figure may have been either a daily or weekly close.
Hopefully Trump will come out with something useful to steady things.

Key levels to watch stateside S/P500 given that the 50 mth EMA has been breached decisively :
1. 30% drop from high,average bear @2371
2. 100 mth EMA @2280,has not been breached since euro sovereign debt crisis in 2010/2011.
These levels matter.

6.6 cent by my records,so lets say 1.98 given the reverse split.
Not too far to go.PMs getting sold again today,the big fish are looking for dollars,even bitcoin is being liquidated.
Another limit down day stateside may be on the cards.

I have a list ready to top up my pension, S/P 500 < 50mth EMA roughly 2640,2792 as I type,bit to go yet and I am itching to pull the trigger but my head says wait,I think around there the big funds will do there patriotic duty state side and TFD !
I think there is one more big push in this bull market before it expires.

It is expected the S/P 500 will go limit down at the open,which means a >7% fall ,the market will halt for 15 mins and then resume,its going to be wild with massive vol.Note also that US markets begin trading at 1.30pm today.

If the fed had raised rates BIRG would be sub 2 noThe big banks have massive exposure to oil ie bad credit lines.
The main risk for capital markets is that bond spreads blow out and it all freezes up again like 2008.
Just watch oil over the next few weeks,hopefully Putin comes back to the table
I expect S/P500 to breach the 50 mth EMA @circa 2640 before the ship hopefully steadies.Zero rates and massive QE again is inevitable.There is no rush to buy in my view,watch and wait for now

Today if you bought 20 Aim companies(having done due diligence) in say Tech,pharma and green focus and left them for 10 yrs you would need to be very unlucky not to do well.On average 14 will go bust ,4 will do average but 2 will do exceptionally well.
BUT one cannot look at or try and trade them for the 10yrs.
There in lies the problem,it is a very rare and exceptional human being that can do yet it sounds like a winner.Put simply, our emotional brain is far more dominant than our intellectual brain and there are 10 times more nerves going from our emotional brain to our intellectual brain .If I was younger I know it is what I should do but I would fail because as the song says" I am only human after all".
I took a bet here @ 8p,it would appear that I have lost.

NFPR out at 1.30pm.Feb data so looking back not forward so not as important unless its a stinker.
3 Fed talking heads slated for later so they will try to steady the ship one thinks.
BIRG price is at the mercy of events,it is hated by the market for now along with all EU banks,technically there are a lot stops below 3,it that breaks decisively I wouldnt rule out 2.23 which seems crazy.
So in my view 3 must hold.I think volatilty will continue,the public are beginning to panic.

I think I may have said that I look at pdl @8p as a long expiry call option,I havent traded it and will hold until it either expires worthless or makes me a decent sum.My trade size is such that it is not a big concern.
I still have a position in Indiv @40p will hold for 80p !!!.
Some good opps in the larger caps and have my eyes on a few.
Just have this feeling that the S/P 500 may test the 50 mth EMA @2637 this year so am a bit hesitant.I may be wide of the mark but there is still a lot of profit to be taken there in my view.Should be a good year in ue course,no rush to be rash !

Fed going to zero in 2020,expect markets to remain volatile esp if Sanders has a decisive Super Tuesday.

Nice trade Steve E60,I am still holding some @40p waiting for the sunlit uplands might be a wait if the DOJ judgement is very negative,petra seems to have found a bit of support @4p,bit of a stinker for now but time may be more kind for this unloved sector/share

This risk is unquantifiable .
It looks like the 50mth EMA @ 2637 is next up to be tested.
There is a lot of forced liquidation,margin calls and systematic hedging at play,even the pms are getting hit today.
I think the fed will launch more QE and an emergency cut with other central bank co-ordination to stabilize things,it may w buy time to get a vaccine but considerable damage to sentiment has occurred.
I know the mantra buy when others are fearful but be careful this time,in my view a sustained v shape reversal is questionable and patience may be a virtue.
