3.Sold as a going concern with a small premium,Steve E60 you should get your current punt back, 2-3p my best guess
4.By some miracle,(it has some big diamonds on hold for a rainy day !!)and it manages to sustain itself for a possible recovery in the underlying.
Complicating matters is the miners have circa 10% of equity here,new owners may not want to comletely destroy them,the optics would not be good.
I bought pre covid as a bet on a recovery,I would not buy now.

Its hard to find anything positive,technically and fundamentally its a busted flush.
You may get your money back Steve E60,I doubt I will and have written it off.
How anyone can be bullish here is beyond me,the company is to all intents not a going concern,its a distressed sale !a de facto debt instrument.
It may have been a stellar investment without covid,but that was the game changer,cest le vie.

Banks are uninvestable but tradeable,metro too risky for me,I like the safe stuff like Petra !!
Dont touch Birg until it goes < 130 and S/P500 <2700.Thats the set up !!.Patience favors the brave !!

I am between thinking equity will get zero and that something may be left for beleagured share holders.
My understanding is that the mine workers own equity,would a new owner want to wipe that out ?,the optics would not be great and politically problematic one would think.
Perhaps I am just clutching the proverbial straw !!!

I wasnt given you advice as I am in no position to do so, given that you are posting trades it was a comment on my part that your trading style without stops has a poor risk/reward profile.I am bullish BIRG and have been building a longer term position(target 3) but I also trade it long and short with stops for quick trades as I have found that looking for quick profits without stops doesnt work in my hands.

So what is your plan if it breaks 130 and heads down towards 100.
The s/p500 is ripe for a 15% bout of profit taking.
I am not saying the above will happen and if you were building a long position to hold med to long time frame I wouldnt comment.But,your trading looking for very small profit targets with no downside protection,you might be lucky but sooner or later the market will take you down.Only 1 in 100 can consistently trade in your price movement target ,and they all use stops. !!

I expect covid19 and related budget constraints to be blamed for the inability to implement the green agenda in due course.

One would expect this to be largely priced in but should pop towards the 2 mark if not..

The company is admitting it is de facto bankrupt which isnt a shocker given events
A buyer will appear but may wait for admin,unlikely equity will get anything and those holding the bonds will take a substantial haircut.
I hope I am wrong as long here @8p,it was always a gamble but covid-19 delivered the coup de grace.

RE TRADES
I use IG spread bets a lot.Pay the spread only,long/short.You could have done that trade in BIRG in sterling or Euro.
Def NOT touting for IG but if you know what you are doing and are disciplined then worth looking at.There is also no capital gains tax if resident in UK or Ireland provided it is not your only source of income.
Interesting stats, after yesterdays rout in the s/p500 81% chance today will be up
88% chance it will be 10% lower than yesterdays close within3/12
74%chance it will be 15% lower than yesterdays close within 6/12
34%chance it wil be 15% higher than yesterdays close end 12/12

Alan Greenspan is still going strong and pontificating !
What amazes me about him and others is that when wrong they just shrug their shoulders and carry on,its a great attribute !!
He caused the dot com bubble and bust and not contented with that he proceeded to cause the GFC with no touch regulation of the financial system and a wrong interest rate policy.
There are only two books that I have not finished,one is Ulysses and the other is Alan Greenspans autobiography,The age of Turbulence.Waiting for the Yanks to kick in at 2.30,see if they will take things down further.

Currently out of indivor but would buy sub 40p,downside 20p upside £1 ish.
Have sold a lot of stuff and on the sidelines waiting for a pullback and better set ups as a lot are overbought given the context.
I like BIRG as a trade,if you get it around 130p its a buy,take a look at the chart,I sold at 205p yesterday and will buy sub 150p.I have a sum set aside to short s/p500 if the context and set up presents,will be an interesting H2,hopefully we can make some.Glad you made some on TLW,not easy.

Longs will take profits above 2 which has been resistance since March.
It remains to be seen if aggressive bears sell as they have done the last 2 times BIRG poked its head above 2, they may hold their fire for now and wait for a higher level to attack as the bigger picture remains bullish.All that matters is the Global central banks keep pumping liquidity into the system,valuations are meaningless.The banking sector is beginning to turn bullish with ABN AMRO and LLOYDS in breakout mode,one would guess that BIRG will follow even if reluctantly. !!
The FED meets next week and unless they turn hawkish(unlikely) the rally will continue with the S/P 500 targeting 3500.
