Staying long is the best course here,
The only thing that will eventually terminate this bull market is a rise in interest rates by the Fed.
Watch the US 10yr,a rise above 2% will eventually and gradually force the Feds hand and cause equity markets to reflect,until that day comes (2022/23) stay long and sit on your shares any decent dips >30% should be bought.
I have a stake here built sub 2,thats my plan,whats yours ?? Sometimes making money is easy,this is the time,sometimes its impossible unless you can short effectively.

The original par value was 10p I think.
Par value has nothing to do with share price value and pdl will not suddenly jump to 10p !!
The language and structure of these announcements need to be reformed and simplified as all they do is create unnecessary confusion.

I think it is a recovery play but I am not as sanguine as you,if it is structured like a placement then dilution can be avoided but there is a big if there and hence my caution.I recall management saying that there would be dilution.Thus far we have equity near zero but that is not the same as dilution.
We will have to wait and see what transpires next week.

Does anyone have any info or insight on the price at which the proposed share offering to the bondholders will be fixed at ?? as clearly that is of immediate significance.I would urge caution until that is clear as 1:10 dilution @1.6p would be a problem or am I missing something ?.This is essentially what I was referring to in my previous post when I mentioned waiting until the deal with the bondholders is complete.

If the deal is fully ratified then the interests of the bondholders are aligned with those of the shareholders ie both gain from equity doing well and the incentive to be long the bond and short equity is no longer in the bondholders interest.
To my way of thinking I believe that equity is now better placed than pre corona and is a buy at these levels once the deal has fully cleared.The risk is clear,no recovery in the diamond market or no big stones then all equity will vanish.
It is worth a small punt and I am adding to my holding at 8p,if sized correctly it is worth the risk.

Min target here is 4,I will hold until 5+ targeting 7500 ftse/4k S/P 500.
In Aug 2019 BIRG was at current levels and it was a raging buy,it still is in my view but as price rises the bears get trapped in and the bulls get trapped out,too afraid to buy and can only see the drop to 130 where they tell themselves they certainly would buy !!.Sometimes its very easy to make money,just buy and hold,its easy now and as long as one has proper risk management not being in equities is a mistake.The FED has told investors that it will let inflation run before tightening,Janet Yellen replaces Mnuchin and she wants to be able to buy shares if the market weakens !!!.It doesnt get better,there is sectoral rotation/reflation going on and it has a long way to run.
All dips should be bought in my view.
The bull market will not end until confidence is lost in the dollar,rampant inflation and high interest rates ensue.
All of those things are a long way off,the time will come to sell,but not now !!!

Big rotation from Gold to bitcoin and oil.
I still have some shanta sold half a while back.
Gold technically looks bearish but I am bullish over the longer term.Toyed with sol g but didnt bite/
Birg got down to 155 and then away,I have built a large position there and hope to get 500 over the cycle.
Its all Bull Bull for now,nice trade re tlw.cmd tommorow could be up/down 20%.

I have take some money off the table re gold and am long BP/shell.
I will hold oil as I think it has further to run.I am watching Hochs and cent and will
buy more @<150 80 respectively.
Re pdl,one has to ask the question are things worse here than Nov 2019.In my mind the cyclical story is still valid
with half the debt !! @1.6p I am thinking of adding to a losing position which is not good !!

Boris is under pressure from the grandees within the Tory party and Big Business to toe the line and compromise.
He is increasingly marginalized and I expect a deal, softish, and wrapped and presented as the most fantastic diplomatic achievement in the pantheon of British Diplomacy.I agree that a hard/no deal Brexit would be negative but greatly mitigated by covid vaccine recovery narrative
It is my view that we are at the beginning of a bull market and that the bear is vanquished for now.
Hold until 7.5k FTSE 100 is breached then reassess, I will be taking profits.

Hold long and do not be shaken out by the inevitable pull backs.
Should target 550 in this cycle circa FTSE 100 7500.S/P500 4k.
The above is when I would condsider selling .I have a target date of June 2021.

I think pdl shareholders dodged a bullet Steve E60 and you will be very unlucky if you dont get your cash back.I am a holder,there is plenty of time now so lets see.
Banks are catching a bid, need a soft Brexit for birg to break out above 207,if it does, it should run as there will be a lot of short stops being hit accelerating the move.All will be glad to see the back of 2020,heres to a soft Brexit,a vaccine and a Biden win !!

At least it is still a going concern and if the underlying turns then all may not be lost.
I had assumed it was going into admin so anything else is a bonus.

There is a lot of pressure on companys to announce something before the US election.It doesnt have to be reality, just the hype at max will be enough to juice the markets,there is a lot of non tech that in particular will run higher thus my caution with shorts.In addition the US markets are being pumped with no top in sight for now.
Just my view Steve E60,may well be wrong but I have covered all my shorts and adding to long on dips.

My Bias is long Birg but I do short it to hedge my position at above 2.When I short I always use a GSL.
I would be V careful shorting this market as the US is in raging bull mode,a vaccine is close and the markets at the moment dont seem to care if its Trump or Biden as long as both are pro stimulus (which they are).The main player is the Fed and they are bending over backwards to support the markets.IThat said I am looking to short the S/P 500 if we get a double top to sept high ,70pts above that would be a tempting short @ 3666 which would be a 3k rally off the Mar 2009 low,the Yanks like that kind of thing for a reversal!!
The rally in Birg is down to short covering with the announcement that Ireland did not implement a feared severe lockdown and bullishness in US markets.

The market likes those odds and think that more stimulus is likely.
My own guess is that next week will be telling and high volatility can be expected.
One doesnt want to speak ill of the ill but Mr Trump has built up a lot of negative Karma,perhaps its pay back time. !!!

Looks like a final bear flag to me on the daily since March.Most likely another test of the 128 low with a run down towards 100 as stops are taken out.There will be a lot of buyers waiting there.
