If the MMs are short of stock, a larger spread puts them more in control as they'll buy low from those who need to sell and disuade buyers by having a high ask price.

I think we are doing lots of guessing on here as to what is going on. Cash continuously running short, waiting for news, possible t/o, will there be more drilling, Stena Forth currently heading East in the Med' Why has sp increased since Friday etc.

My guess is that the MMs raised the price Friday and yesterday to attract more buying and get the volume higher with an overall greater margin between ask and bid. This continued today by having a volatile sp - dropping 20% then recovering ½ or so. We have had no news but some suggestions of a leak which boosted the price but why should it drop again before partly recovering ? It surely is all down to the MMs focusing on this share to make a good turn on it.

Risks are obviously, as mentioned, cash flow/can we extract gas from Anchois commercially/when or if we get any useful income from elsewhere. It could all go tits up but at 3pence must be far more upside chance than downside with all the project options.

The current sp seems to be based on most projects failing but my glass is at least half full.

I wonder how much dosh AP has at his disposal? In the heyday heights of MCap of around £150m + AP had about £10m+ worth of Char shares. Total Cap now of about only £40m will be within his reach. A bid of that amount will not win of course but with the help of AA and maybe others I think there is a good chance he will come up with something. maybe 12pence a share to start. Would that work for him? It may do. Would I accept it - not sure. That would put me in profit but lots of PIs will be negative as will some who went in with the 18pence raise. Of course if AP put in a bid of 12p it would be assumed, as he knows more than other investors, it is worth a fair bit more. As mannan said earlier this share could go anywhere. So a 12p consortium bid followed by a re-rate to 16p and a final offer of 19p would probably work and I would go with that. They'd probably get enough yesses to be able to make it unconditional. I'd be happy.....

Yes it appears to be moving very very very slowly but has left Tarragona. At that speed it may reach Morocco or Israel in about 10 years

Currently share price showing at 1.75pence. You can buy 100,000 at 1.91 and sell at 1.82 so how can the sp be 1.75 ??

Also that is a large range, allowing the MMs to make big profits.

Surety - I agree with you about the "no dividend" as it is more important that if they sell something they should keep the cash for future developments rather than shed it and then later do another awful raise! Get something done to secure some ruddy income.

From 1.75 (2.00pm today) Up 20% 14 times takes us back to 22pence.

But from today's close, 1.94 ( Up 33% today. ) Up a further 33% only 9 times takes us to 25pence.

Let's get 2 of those times in tomorrow (even before any important news) ! (=3.4pence)

Starbanker. You say penalty for ENOG walking away is $23m. 15+8 ? The current cap value of Char is £18m.

$23m is = to £17.3m So EITHER -

We have more drilling by ENOG which means they are not done yet at Anchois which hopefully would be good news (but by the way the drill ship has gone off to Tarragona off East Coast of Spain )

OR they bung Char with 17.3m quid ?? = the value of the whole Company ??

ENOG or CHAR have not yet said they are abandoning the Anchois project. They are doing sums to see if it is worth taking further. That could take another week or 3?

Have we not got more stuff going on now than we had then, even without Anchois?

If we get more pretty pictures and cosy chat from AP and DW about Namibia or On-shore or any other "amazing" new prospects this sp could yoyoyoyoyo for years to come.

I bought at 1.33pence and sold at 1.9pence during last 12 days but timing is so difficult.

It isn't worth selling at 1½pence now. There must be more upswing prospect than downswing from here.

Well spoken GP. I'm still here after selling up and coming back - hoping we will have a new fantastic project to push up the sp back to 20p sometime in the next 30 years or so. I think they hit £3 in 2011?
